A friend of mine sent me a text of 2 cats that are in need of a home. They came up in one of my endless searches that I have done. I know the two that I really want so I pulled the trigger and reached out about adopting them. If that doesn’t work out then I will consider the 2 that my friend sent me a message about.
I figure if it’s meant to be it will happen, if not well so be it. Emotionally I don’t know if I am quite ready but then again will I ever be? I think this is one of those situations where if I am propelled into it that I will do fine, we will all make it together.
Now I have to play the waiting game. Most shelters are all volunteer organizations so they don’t have full time staff and thus it takes longer for them to reach back out. I am no good at waiting but everything happens for a reason (sometimes I am not sure why). The wait I think of as a safety mechanism so if I have second thoughts that would be the time to pull back.
I have enough sense to not submit multiple inquires about multiple pets, otherwise I could easily wind up with a bunch of cats. I am only up for a maximum of 2.
In a way I can’t believe I actually did this. I don’t want to set myself up for failure but at the same time I really don’t like where I am at right now. Cats are the closest thing I can get to a human companion and well they are much more loyal than a human. I hope that this all works out for the best.
Someone pinch me it feels like a dream.
