DAY 2 – Friday Off

Hey, hope it was a great day for you!

I started my day at 2a with insomnia. Stayed up until 4am and then was able to go back to sleep. My last words before falling asleep were “Rudy, please don’t wake me at 6a”. Rudy woke me at 6:45a instead. I knew he wouldn’t let me sleep. That’s okay, I got up and fed him. Then threw on some clothes and headed out for breakfast.

Had Cinnamon French Toast with Strawberry’s, very good. Two ladies were in front of me when it was time to pay and I picked up their breakfast. What a dumb move on my part, because they apparently packed it away. I dropped $50 with a tip, that included my breakfast.

Headed to a bakery shop thinking that I would surprise my Thanksgiving friends with some baked goods. However, the shop was closed. I really wanted this to work out but perhaps another time.

Stopped for gas before going home. Grabbed the trash bin and wheeled it inside the garage. Went inside to greet the cats. Headed out to the front porch to change the batteries in that camera. Blew off the porch and sidewalk. That scared the cats and they went to hide in my room. They both hate the blower. It’s just air, nothing that will harm them. I think it’s more the noise the thing makes.

Sat around watching my favorite judge on You Tube until it was time to leave for my haircut. Got my head shaved seriously short, it’s not down to skin but that would be the next step. I knew I’d be sorry because the itching had already started. I am taking a shower tonight and scrubbing my head good!

Hit up Sam’s Club after my haircut. Got those brownies that I wanted, some soda and a bag of chocolates. There went another $42. It’s way too easy to spend money, no wonder I work for a living!

Came back home, waited until it was time to leave for my big adventure, which was traveling back to the seafood restaurant I went to a few weeks back. Wow, this time I had to go to the bathroom on the way there. I should have listened to the GPS and re-routed to avoid a backup of traffic but, no I was stubborn and thought it wouldn’t be that bad. Spent 18 minutes in bumper-to-bumper traffic with a full bladder. Stupid me, I always pay some price when I don’t listen to the GPS. This isn’t the first time I’ve ignored it. The traffic set me back and it was closer to 5p when I got there. Took me a few minutes to find a place to park. Then walking in there was a line to stand in for tables. Not exactly what I wanted to do with a full bladder but some how I made it. Got seated at the same table I had last time. Different person took care of me. Had the Strawberry Pina Colada it was basically rum (heavy on the rum), pineapple and coconut in a glass. Not worth the $8 I paid for it and I didn’t even finish it. Had stuffed Orange Roughy which was good but the Broiled Orange Roughy I had last time was much better. Got my Au gratin Potatoes but they were tasteless. I had them as a kid growing up and thought they would take me back, I’ve been craving them for a long time, but this was a disappointment. I only spent $4 more than last time and I didn’t have any alcohol last time.

The drive home was much more enjoyable than the drive up because we moved all the way home. I even got to speed – went 100 mph for a short while. My car still has performance and twin turbos help. Don’t worry, I drove the speed limit for most of the way home because I can’t afford to waste gas by driving like I am in the Indy 500 but for the short time I did, it sure was fun. It was a long patch of freeway, and I was breaking away from a pack of traffic. It was fun to watch them disappear in my rear-view mirror. Gas mileage should have been 28mpg, but I got 26mpg from sitting in traffic and then my speed racer impression. All things considered not horrible, but it could have been better.

Stopped for a car wash before I headed home. Perfect timing for that. I just missed a thunderstorm by an hour. Were supposed to have rain all weekend and most of next week. It’s been in the forecast for the past couple days, but it just sprinkles and then the sun comes back out.

Got the dishes washing while I came down to play on the computer, pay a bill, see my personal email and of course surf for porn. Glad that I still have 2 more days before I must go back. Not looking forward to that at all but then again, I never do look forward to going back.

Ah I got one test result back but the rest of them are taking their sweet time. The lab they used this time takes their sweet time so likely tomorrow the results should be available. Not that it’s going to change anything, but I’d like to see how my body is performing.

Not a bad day but I kind of hoped for more fun than I had. I’ve got to get cat food tomorrow and pick up the mail again. Nothing per se planned, other than trying to stay cool and hydrated. No idea of where I want to eat tomorrow but I know I won’t go hungry, which is a good thing!

2nd Time not as good

Happy Weekend, hope all is well. 

Friday I made it to my friends house, the gathering was super small me and their neighbor (who’s a little crazy).  Oddly enough both the neighbor and I are both widowers.  We had burgers, potato salad, baked beans, and corn on the cob.  A few hours later Ice Cream with Chocolate and Carmel sauces.  It was a decent meal.  The burger tasted strange. 

More than anything I enjoyed the company and being able to chat.  Originally when I walked in the door they were watching TV and she was interested in some murder mystery series.  I didn’t want to stick around for that and tried to leave but then conversation started as their neighbor left.  I soon found out that I wasn’t the only one who felt he is a little strange. 

They were planning on going out to dinner on Saturday and made the mistake of mentioning it to their neighbor, he invited himself along, told them where they were going to go and said he was paying the bill.  I asked them what time dinner was so that I wouldn’t miss it.  They both said we wish it was you instead of him we were going with. 

I got home just before dark and all of the fireworks started.  This year the cats were not happy with the noise.  Previous years it hasn’t bothered them but I suppose things change with time and age.  It was super noisy and someone put on a nice commercial type show at the end of the street, which you could see from the living room window.  I glanced out for a second and then went back to getting ready for bed. 

Saturday I made it to the buffet and despite them having dinner out they charged me the lunch price again.  I was so pleased about that because this time it was crap for food.  I ate mostly fried chicken, had one small piece of fish.  Lots of mashed potatoes that oddly enough tasted like they came from KFC, they were so good.  I saw something in the desert case and asked about it.  It was Hot Fudge Peanut Butter Pie.  I ordered a piece, wow that was the best part of the whole meal.  I left full not quite as satisfied as I was the last time.  They had pork but it was grilled I was counting on BBQ. 

I missed one of the turns in getting there so I had to go down a small one lane road and a car was coming from the opposite direction.  It was a tense moment but between the two of us we made sure that we got by each other tight as it was.  That little mistake ruined my clean car.  I looked like I went mudding or hit a puddle but it was all dust. 

Made it back home, late for the cats supper but they got fed and had some treats. 

Today (Sunday) I woke up early and headed out as per usual.  Paid for two older ladies breakfast as a good deed.  I haven’t bought anyone else’s meal in a long time.  That felt so good and when I made the announcement to them it went over rather well. 

Drove to the car wash and rather than spend another $25 for a wash I opted to join the club so I paid $40 and now I can wash my car during the month as many times as I want.  It’s recurring so the 6th of every month they will debit my card.  I can cancel anytime there is no long term contract.  There was a nice guy working the wash and he had a good looking ass.  He smiled at me but never caught me peeking.  Not sure if that was his normal smile or if he wanted to get it on.  I almost drove back through but opted to just keep on going.  My information pops up on a screen so if he’s interested he can always call me, but I’m not holding my breath. 

Made it to Target for more cat treats and a few other items.  Then on to the grocery store.  I really wanted to get started surfing the net but by the time I got home I saw the cats made a couple messes for me and I just wanted to relax and enjoy the morning like I normally do.  We (the cats and I) all took a nap in my recliner.  They were in between my legs and while it sounds uncomfortable it wasn’t bad. 

I got up after nap time, fed them lunch, cleaned up their messes, set out my pills and munched on a snack.  Finally made my way to the basement.  I had planned on joining a website for some new content with one of my favorite porn stars (Sam Bridle) that just dropped.  However, I talked myself out of it for the second time.  It’s not a question of money but rather something I want and really don’t need. 

Speaking of needs it’s about time to get up and swap loads of laundry, head out for supper and some cat food.  Thinking maybe of taking in a movie later kind of depends on how I feel. 

Tomorrow is car maintenance and lunch with my friend, that won’t be a super cheap day.  Other than that I don’t have any real plans for tomorrow or Tuesday.  Just relax and take it easy, probably go back to the car wash just for fun. 

I hope that your staying cool.  Hang in there the weekend will come around again soon!  Shame we have to wait until September for the next holiday in the US, that’s when I will be on vacation again.  Something to look forward to.  Take care!

Waiting

Good Morning,

No Mexican food for me, the place was closed.  I went to a different Mexican place and they too were closed.  Wound up eating BBQ again at the same place I was at on Sunday night.  It was just as good but service was horrible and it took forever to get my food.  It wasn’t just me I saw other people waiting and it looks like they spread their wait staff thin.  The place was packed. 

I saw an older lady eating by herself and my little voice whispered to me, I wound up buying her meal.  Of course as luck would have it she didn’t like magic tricks but I still told her that I paid her bill.  She scream like I just set her on fire and some folks were looking at me.  She asked why I paid her bill.  I told her that it’s just something I do, I pick people at random.  I got a thanks and God Bless you.  Hey I figured that I was eating alone and she was eating alone.  Might as well make her day with the surprise.  I get a thrill out of doing it and the reactions from people, since I truly do pick them at random.  I only do it when I feel like it and it feels like the right thing to do.  If I did that every time I went out I’d easily be broke by now.  My hope is that people will pay it forward and return the kind deed to a stranger and that it starts a chain reaction. 

What I didn’t like is that I wasn’t prompted to enter my phone number when I paid for loyalty points, apparently the waitress programmed in her phone number and she was racking up the points, but I didn’t realize that until I got home.  Looks like she will get $5 off of her next meal because of my kindness. 

Came home much later than I wanted to but still had plenty of time.  Opted to just take out the trash and take care of the litter boxes.  No need to vacuum, it can easily wait a week. 

Logged my spending and grabbed my computer glasses, we were all back upstairs and ready for treat time.  I passed treats out and then went to close up the basement.  Then surfed social media on my phone and that was a time suck.  I didn’t let it get out of hand.  I went back to writing for a bit.  That is until Rudy came over and sat in my lap on top of the pad I was writing on.  It was as if he was saying your done now, pay attention to me.  He just curled up and went to sleep.  I watched a little TV and once he woke up from his nap, we played a little bit then he got up and walked over to his bed and loafed.  I was able to continue writing for a bit. 

Trimmed claws and brushed both cats. Had some ice cream, got ready for bed and then I relaxed until my sleeping medicine kicked in, which was around 11p.  Climbed in bed and Mora curled up with me and it was off to dream land I went. 

Rudy was good about waking me up early this morning, he got a jump on things and tried at 5a but I told him we still had an hour.  I gave in 5 minutes early and got up.  We all got breakfast.  Then I got my shower and got dressed.  Rudy got him some fresh water from the tub as I was getting dressed. 

I made it out the door and to the office with time to spare.  Traffic was a little hectic this morning but not terrible.  I hope now that school is out that it’s a bit lighter when I am coming home.  Time will tell.

Knocked out one problem when I got here.  Hoped that the electrician would should up early but I’m still waiting on him and were closer to lunch time now.  I’ve got a meeting to go to in a bit, once that wraps if I don’t hear anything I will call for an update.  I’d sure like to leave early again if I can and hope that I don’t get stuck in traffic because I had to wait around.  My day is pretty much wide open since I am not on-call and don’t have any projects pending. 

Planning on trying another brands Lasagna tonight just to see how it is.  I really hope that I like it.  It’s pretty much pasta all week long and I’m not upset with that at all.  3 more days and this week will be done!
