End of the week

Greetings

Just like that the week is over with.  I am so happy to see another Friday!  Just need to make it through the day and then hopefully I will have two days of peace and quiet. 

I had a few things to take care of this morning and lucky me, Rudy woke me up super early.  I dismissed him for a little bit but kept eyeing the clock.  Then I had to turn over and there was no turning back from that.  He knew for sure I was up and he just worked those paws of his making biscuits until I opened my eyes.  I never said a word to him but started petting him.  I felt his motor kick on low and I could see his face light up he was so happy.  It’s amazing that I can make an animal that happy. 

Mora is no different but her joy comes after breakfast.  She hops on the bed and once I am dressed I shower her with attention.  Some mornings we play, if she wants.  But most of them just involve belly rubs and me singing her song that I came up with.  It’s corny but she’s grown to like and expect it.  Her motor is running on high every time.  After belly rubs she meets me in the living room and we play ball.  She has a ball in a circle that only I can get out with two hands.  She bats it to me and I make it go fast and fly by her, she stops it and passes it back to me.  Then sometimes I get the ball out and set it in front of her.  She loves that and wants to take it and run with it but I don’t let her because who knows where that would wind up.  I put it back in the circle and she tries with both of her front paws to pull it out but fails every single time.  Then she looks at me as if to say “how in the world did you do that?”  it’s funny. 

I came down to start the work day early and plowed through my work.  I’ve got a report to run but I am giving some time to lapse before I start down that road.  Then at closing time there are a few more tasks to take care of and I will be done.  I just hope that not too much comes my way today so that I can relax as much as possible. 

I did grab the trash barrel because the morning forecast includes rain that is on it’s way towards my house now.  Speaking of which the trash people showed up yesterday and took all of the junk from the neighbors house.  Glad that is gone. 

Still plan on getting up early grabbing a shower, then breakfast and a haircut.  Probably will stop by the post office to check mail.  I don’t think I have anything.  No movement on the letter.  I am so disappointed with the post office.  I know I’m not the only one.  Kind of makes me wish I would have used UPS or FEDEX but they don’t have the Restricted Delivery feature just the ability to require that someone signs for the package and that’s the reason why I stuck with USPS.  I’m anxious how the news is going to be received and what reaction if any that I will get. 

Well on with Friday.  Looking forward to this day ending and the weekend starting.  I’m over working for a living and seriously want to walk away it’s just the money that I would find difficult to live without.  Have a great weekend!

Thursday already

Greetings!

The week is moving fast and I am happy about that.  I want to be rid of being on-call.  Although, thus far this hasn’t been a horrible week.  I know there is still time for that to change but I am hopeful that it will not. 

Looks like the Mistake Maker and I will be out around the same time.  i will be on vacation and he will be on Paternity Leave.  That will leave the new guy all by himself for a week.  It will be good for him and kind of give him some Baptism by fire.  He will have the boss around to back him up so he won’t totally be alone.  It’s about a month away and I am looking forward to getting away. 

Nothing much going on.  Letter still has no tracking updates, which I am highly disappointed about.  Paid all that money I hope they don’t wind up losing it.  Since I don’t fully trust the USPS site I am prepared just in case the phone rings or I get an email, I left my contact information in the letter in case the kid wants to reach out.  Part of me thinks he will be cause family seems to be important to him.  Part of me thinks he won’t because well it’s kind of a messed up situation.  I can speculate until I am blue in the face but that won’t tell me how this turns out.  I am a little anxious.

Cats are doing well, Rudy hung around me last night while I watched TV.  He was in the way for a bit but I tolerated him because he looked too cute to wake up.  It funny to see him all confused when he is woken up, it takes a minute for things to register just like with a human.  He tried to jump start me this morning but it didn’t work.  He wound up cuddling up next to me until I was ready to get out of bed. 

Insomnia hit me again last night but it was super early 12:30a.  I laid in bed and watched TV.  The cats came in to keep me company.  It’s nice but I think I might enjoy it more if I had time alone.  They give that to me on rare occasions but it’s never long enough. 

Trash day is tomorrow and my neighbors yard looks like Fred Sandford stopped by.  Someone came by to pick up the appliances he set out but the furniture is still sitting.  I honestly don’t think it’s going anywhere anytime soon.  However, it’s in the front yard so everyone has to see it, not just me. 

Weekend plans right now are shaping up to look like an early morning shower on Saturday.  Going out for breakfast and a haircut.  Then who knows what.  I’ll probably want to nap but you never know I might turn productive and start doing something.

Not tracking

Morning

Well I tracked the letter/package and the status updates have stopped.  I see that it made it to the regional facility and today it should be out for delivery but that doesn’t show.  Perhaps the clerk that told me it would be delayed wasn’t kidding around.  I don’t get how the post office charges more for everything now but service isn’t what it used to be.  I am keeping an eye on this and will be until it’s complete, which who knows how long that will be. 

In other news the boss kept trying to schedule a meeting with me as our monthly touch point and I kept declining.  He brought it up in our meeting yesterday and I told me we spoke on Monday, nothing has changed since then.  He said oh I thought you would have something you wanted to talk about.  Nope, not unless you know something I don’t.  That kind of ended it.  I think he is stressed out and has far too much going it’s either that or he’s going senile. 

Speaking of work, one meeting on the books for today.  I don’t see any other meetings on my calendar for the rest of the week and hope that I can keep it that way.  There is plenty of other stuff populated on my calendar and in case your new here, I don’t like meetings.  They happen way too often and aren’t productive and turn into much more of a time suck. 

Insomnia greeted me again last night, watched TV for an hour and then went back to bed.  Rudy jumped on top of me at 5a as if to say wake up sleepy head.  That didn’t get the response he was hoping for.  I just ignored him.  He curled up and waited on me.  Normally he’s stealthy with his moves but not this morning when I could have used the extra sleep. 

The cooler weather has arrived and I can feel the difference inside.  The AC I think will get a break today and it sure needs it.  Poor thing has been running like crazy.  I am sure this is only a lull as were not out of summer yet. 

Well about time to migrate upstairs to be with the cats and relax until something breaks or meeting time rolls around, which ever comes first.  Hope that its a great day for all of us!

 

Activity

Morning

Not sure what the clerk at the Post Office was talking about.  I have tracked the package and there is scanning activity on it.  Looks like it’s scheduled for delivery on Wednesday not Thursday.  Fingers crossed, I will continue to monitor this closely. 

Bossman called yesterday afternoon.  Said that he is still in talks about my promotion which he is now calling Supervisor’s Assistant but the company calls it Team Leader.  Now he’s telling me that it will be a 1st of the year promotion.  I have committed to it yet, I still want to see what exactly I would be taking on.  They don’t just give you a raise and no additional work or responsibilities for nothing.  It’s a quid pro quo situation aka you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours.  I am not dumb as to accept a promotion blindly without knowing exactly what I am getting myself into, only a fool would do that.  He gave me a task to do in my spare time.  Which I knocked out early this morning to get it off my plate.  I hate having things on my plate, a clean plate is my idea of normal.  That leaves me wide open for the next big thing to land, especially when I am on call. 

Got a thank you text from my Thanksgiving friends for the flowers.  They loved them and it caught them by surprise.  They are down to 1 cat now and he is older like the last one was.  Once he is gone they don’t want anymore since they are both up there in age.  They have raised so many cats like 19 or 20 plus fed a couple of strays.  They have been good to the animals.  They also had a couple dogs as well. 

Saw something last night I have seen in quite some time.  It was raining sideways.  The wind was blowing the rain so forcefully it was coming down sideways and I’m talking a Monsoon downpour.  We had the whole Thunder & Lighting thing as well.  I am just thankful that I didn’t hear or see a tree fall, that is always my worry since my house is surrounded by them.  I like them only when the leaves are green and they stay in place. For the rest of the year they cause me issues with falling leaves and limbs.  The place would look naked without them not to mention it would cost a small fortune to chop them all down. 

Looks like I have a new baby groundhog and it’s dug up two holes that I had previously plugged.  Not happy about it.  Getting rid of them is costly.  I wish the city offered the service for free like they did in years past I would surely take them up on it.  On the plus side I haven’t seen any Racoons for a few days now and am wondering if the family moved out.  I’d like to clean the deck when the weather breaks and I have some time to do the labor and recover from it.  Not a high priority but it’s on my list of things to do. 

Had Tuna Noodle Casserole last night and took the first few bites out of the hunk of Chocolate Cake I brought home on Saturday afternoon.  It wasn’t the best meal ever but it was highly enjoyable. 

More heat and storms are on tap for today.  Then come tomorrow we are supposed to cool down.  AC is running like crazy and it feels good in here.  Were all comfy and that’s what matters most to me.

Expensive Day

I made it to the post office to mail the letter.  I was shocked when I was told that it could take up to 4 weeks for it to arrive.  Apparently Certified Mail is running behind.  The letter is going a couple towns away it’s not like it’s going across the country.  My receipt shows that expected delivery is Thursday.  I certainly hope that the clerk is wrong and the receipt is correct.  Otherwise, the kid will leave for college and never be able to sign for this.  Mailing this the way I did set me back $20.  Quite expensive for a letter but there is valuable information and what I did will tell me if he gets it or not.  He is the only one who can sign for it. 

My Thanksgiving friends messages me last night that on Saturday night they lost one of their cats.  Sounds like it was unexpected and the cat died at home.  I looked at Amazon for something to send and decided to scrap the idea and just sent flowers.  They will be delivered today, despite the fact that I waited until the afternoon to make the purchase.  Thankfully I had reward points to cash in at the florist but still I dropped $77. 

I was thinking about going out for supper but considering the amount of money I dropped today I am staying home and eating out of the freezer.  It’s not going to kill me but it certainly won’t be nearly as good as a freshly prepared meal in a restaurant.

Thus far work has been okay.  The mistake maker is out due to a sick kid.  Monday’s are typically slow paced and that seems to be the case as everyone is getting their footing and then things will take off from there.  I hate being on-call and will be happier when the week is done!

Sadly I have a meeting with the boss later this afternoon.  It’s just a touch point like we spontaneously had last week.  I think this will be a waste of time but I’m playing along. 

My cats are doing well.  Both got brushed good yesterday and had their nails trimmed.  Mora hated it.  Rudy didn’t like it but he played along and tolerated me.  We had a decent lunch and since I am dressed in street clothes I feel oddly more productive.  AC is humming right along as expected. 

That’s about it for now.  Just holding my breath to see what happens with my letter.  I hope it lands well and doesn’t cause me problems.  It’s all about anticipation.  I’m prepared for both a good and bad outcome, just hoping for the good one!

Unexpected Treat

Hi, hope that your weekend is going well.

Early yesterday evening I heard a noise while I was doom scrolling. I got up to investigate and man I got a nice free show. Turns out it was my neighbor’s son who was doing some trimming. He was shirtless and was wearing black shorts and shoes. He was sweating and showing off his muscles as well as his booty. I watched as he worked away. I was turned on and wished that he was closer so I could smell his musky scent and of course have my way with him. I’m a poor judge of age but if I had to venture a guess, I’d say he was 17 or 18. I know that this neighbor has 3 boys, they look like small, medium and large or young, older and oldest. I think one of them is headed to college or is in college and the other one is close to graduating high school. They are only out in the yard occasionally and usually none of them are shirtless. This was an unexpected treat, and I was glad that I checked out that noise. Just when I had been wishing I saw more cute guys, this happened. That was by far the best thing that happened all day long! At least he didn’t notice that I was watching him, that would have been awkward. However, I was literally just looking out the window. For the record I wouldn’t do anything with any guy who wasn’t of legal age, that’s just a recipe for disaster. However, I like Twinks and can’t help what I like.

I opted last night to forgo the stronger muscle relaxer. I woke up to rain and Rudy kneading his paws (making biscuits) on my chest way too early. It took me a minute to realize that it was Saturday, when I did, I didn’t want to get out of bed. However, I figured might as well get the day started. We all had breakfast. Then I got my pills and we all returned to my room to watch TV. I knew I would get sleepy and return to bed and that’s exactly what happened. It was 8am when I went to bed and 10am when I woke up. Watched more TV and continuing to relax as I powered my phone on to see what I missed in the world and just as I thought, I missed nothing. No one wanted me. That’s okay I got my two furry cats who were more than thrilled that they were close to me. It was a little afternoon when Rudy woke up from his nap and asked for lunch. I got up to feed him. I had a very enjoyable treat that was highly unhealthy, a soda and 3 chocolate squares. I knew that would set me up for another nap. I went back to watching TV. It was about an hour later when I got up, put my phone on Do Not Disturb and crawled back into bed. I wasn’t there but 5 seconds when the phone chirped that I had a text message. It was from my Thanksgiving friend thanking me for the birthday card and saying we will have to get together. Yeah, okay I responded with a sounds good and moved on. With that I was up, took the phone off Do Not Disturb and returned to my chair to continue watching TV.

My bladder was bothering me, and I did my best to ignore it but eventually around 1:30p I told Mora to get up, and I headed for the bathroom. After I emptied my bladder, I got a shower and then dressed. Decided I would head back to the Italian place that I love so much. I wanted to get something new but as my luck goes, they were out of the dish I wanted to order. So, I stuck with Lasagna. No salad this time and I got another giant slice of Chocolate Cake to go. Dropped $50 and headed to the post office, then cat food store and finally back home.

Got my finances up to date and paid a bill. Registered for a benefits webinar to learn about my 2027 Health Benefits. So glad that my health care isn’t tied to my job and that my late spouse left me with great health care that seems to just get better. I know when I eventually turn 65 that’s when I will get the shaft, it seems all older folks get the shaft once they are 65 but that’s 10 years away. I know that will go by in the blink of an eye but still 10 years. Anyway, I’m working on laundry and will be porn surfing after this. Drinking my 40 ounces of water slowly but it’s sure good. I enjoy it almost as much as soda, it just must be cold. I’m sure my kidneys are thankful for the water.

Not a bad Saturday but I had a lot more that I would have liked to accomplish, the rain early morning kind of ruined my plans but it’s okay, I got time with the cats and a nap.

Yesterday in doing some on-line reading, I learned that my hobby of listening to the police scanner is in jeopardy of going away as more agencies are deciding to encrypt their radio traffic. It’s better for officer safety. A couple of police departments that I don’t listen to have already encrypted. I found that my police department has one encrypted channel for investigations that I didn’t know about. I understand why they want to encrypt and how it benefits them. However, I’ve been in this hobby since I was a kid. I really like it. It’s entertainment and company when I am working during the day, so I don’t feel so alone, plus it gives me an insight into what is going on. I’ve invested a small sum of money in two scanners that do Digital Trunking. I was thinking of buying a third but have held off for a couple years. These things aren’t cheap and are only going up in price. I can say I got my monies worth out of my equipment, but I’d hate them to be turned into paper weights because of encryption. I use them every single day and even more so on holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. I know I’m not alone but honestly there isn’t much that I can do but sit back and watch to see what materializes, hoping for the best and praying the worst doesn’t happen.

Speaking of my scanner, I also learned that my local police department recently signed a contract with Flock Safety for ALPR’s (Automatic License Plate Readers) and some other hardware. The way it’s used here doesn’t bother me a whole lot, still I don’t like the idea of being tracked. I have nothing to hide but I do like my privacy like everyone else. If you visit any Lowes Hardware in the surrounding area you’ve been scanned by a flock camera. They all have them. From what I know Lowes apparently does a great job working with Law Enforcement to prosecute shoplifters. I live in what I would call a good neighborhood. However, we have a Wal-Mart like most American cities and where there is a Wal-Mart it seems to attract shoplifters, drug dealers and other issues. Like people on a hot summer day bringing their dogs with them and locking them in the car. Wal-Mart is the place where the police are at the most out of everywhere around. Lowe’s is close by and I noticed months ago they put up even more flock cameras, appearing to help Wal-Mart and other businesses close by. There is no way in or out of the shopping area to Lowe’s that you’re not going to show up on a Flock Camera. All the advanced monitoring technology is great if it’s used correctly. But I can see where it would be tempting to misuse it to track someone and I can see a hacker wanting to compromise the system and break in just for the thrill of it. Those examples are what concern me and the other law-abiding folks in the area. I don’t think this is going away and I think that if anything it will get more advanced and become part of everyday society. Where eventually America will be like China where your tracked by a facial recognition camera no matter where you go, so if the police aka Government want you, they will know where and how to find you at a moments notice.

The Big Day

Happy Friday everyone!

Today is the mass exodus at work where our interns are leaving.  The fun (aka work) for me doesn’t begin until later this afternoon.  However, I have poured a lot of prep work into this and made sure that they are divided up among my team.  I can’t believe that if it wasn’t for an email that I sent yesterday the new guy was going to start shutting them down yesterday.  Glad I sent my email to set him straight.  My gut told me to send the email and it paid off.  It will be a relief once this little project is done.  This month along with December/January are the largest months for folks leaving.  Projects are much like problems in that as soon as your done with one another one comes along to take it’s place.  It’s a never ending cycle.  You just hope the next project is easier and moves along quicker. 

My upper shoulders and neck are bothering me.  I decided to comply with prescribing instructions for one of the muscle relaxers I take, normally when I do that I get relief.  However, it appears to me that things are getting worse instead of better.  I am thinking of taking one of my knock out muscle relaxers that will have me sleeping for most of the day tomorrow.  I will make that decision later this evening.  I know that the issue stems from being in front of the computer and my usage has been extra heavy.  Ah more of the joys of getting older. 

Had a nice evening with the cats, they both got brushed.  I watched TV, just random YouTube stuff.  Lots of new car review videos.  Finished off the store bought pasta.  Had the bright idea of going out tonight but then I remembered the project work and decided by the time I would be done every place would be too crowded.  I am having something from the freezer just don’t know what it is just yet. 

As for tomorrow I haven’t made up my mind on where I want to go.  There are a few things I’d like to accomplish.  Not sure how successful I will be. 

Went out this morning to grab the trash barrel and wow it’s nice out.  It was 66 degrees and there was no humidity.  Felt like the best weather I’ve experienced in a long time.  Sadly I had to come back in and start my day.  Temperatures are only going to heat up as the day goes on but I did rather enjoy the few minutes I was out of the house.

1 Day to go

Happy Thursday (aka Friday Eve).

I hope that your day is off to a great start!  Mine is going okay thus far despite an early morning start at 1a when my insomnia kicked in again.  I sat with Rudy and we watched TV.  Mora came in to join us for a while.  Around 3am I went back to bed and Mora cuddled with me and left, Rudy jumped in her place.  After that he never left my room.  He started with an early morning wake up call at 5a but I told him a couple more hours, he let me go one hour and tried at 6a.  I staved him off for 35 minutes and then wound up getting up. 

Mora looked like she was on bug patrol this morning.  She was on the couch arm looking up at the ceiling.  She cried out to me and I looked but no bug that I could see.  She came to eat breakfast and then went right back to bug duty.  I looked and looked but there is no bug, not sure what she saw or if it perhaps migrated and was hiding in another part of the house. 

I moved right along with my morning routine and Mora was waiting for me in my bed.  She has to have her morning attention, just can’t start the day with out it.  Kind of sets the tone for the day or something like that.  Rudy was busy bathing but managed to give me a couple dirty looks while he was cleaning.  He wanted some attention too and I didn’t let him wait for long.  I got dressed and peeked at my phone.  I expected there to be a bunch of junk from work.  There was email but nothing to get up in arms about. 

There was a situation last night later in the evening.  Despite not being on-call I inserted myself because it pissed me off and raised my blood pressure.  The long and short of it was someone accused us of not doing our job and that will get me fired up every time.  I fired off a professional but diplomatic retort and proved that we did our job.  I made sure to copy in every possible person that I could to show off and that seems to have calmed things down.  At least I hope so since there hasn’t been any further email about it, at least to me.  I probably should have let the mistake maker who was on-call take care of it but I just couldn’t resist jumping in.  I’ve got a pretty good barometer and know when to speak and when not to but sometimes I get into some sticky situations trying to be helpful.  I am scaling that back. 

Speaking of work I’ve been delegating a lot lately and damn that is fun and can be addicting.  I see something come in that I don’t want to deal with so I push it off on someone else and they take care of it.  Man if that’s what it’s like to be a boss that for sure has to be one of the perks.  I’m sure there are downsides and they probably far outweigh the upsides. 

Got some bad news yesterday.  A journalist and podcaster passed away.  I found out in the middle of watching another podcast it was an abrupt thing and there was an odd pause.  I’m speaking of John C. Dvorak.  He was known for being cranky but I found him quite entertaining.  He lived to be 80 years old.  That’s a long time but I’m sure it passed in the blink of an eye.  He was an entertainer to me.  RIP

While it was cooler here the AC still seemed to run about the same amount of time.  We have one more cool day before things heat back up and storms move in.  Not looking forward to rain or more brutal heat but come December I will be wishing for it.  That’s the thing about the weather were never 100% happy with it all of the time.  It’s either too cold or too hot.  Such is life!

I’ve prepared for the mass exodus tomorrow when our interns leave.  I’ve done as much pre-work as I can to get ahead.  I never look forward to their arrival or leaving as it causes more work for me.  I’m sure everything will go fine but tomorrow afternoon will for sure be a very busy time, perhaps that will make time fly so we can start the weekend.  I am not looking forward to next week since I will be on-call but I am certainly enjoying resting up this week.

Halfway there

Morning!

It’s much cooler here this morning and that is the theme for the day.  We get a couple days break before the humidity and heat come back along with some rain.  The weekend is expected to be dry, which is good. 

Today is pretty much meeting city for me with 3 of them.  2 of which are with vendors and 1 of them I expect to get heated because a vendor talked us in to purchasing a service, we bought it and then after a couple months they ceased the service.  There have been a few hot emails over it and I am sure that the meeting today is where it will all come to a head and explode.  So there is that fun to look forward to. 

My insomnia kicked in last night at 3a.  Rudy came to keep me company.  I was all set to watch TV but instead I cuddled with him and he managed to get me back to sleep before I knew what happened.  He’s kind of handy to have around at times.  Not sure why he did that as it’s normally his sisters job but hey I am not complaining at all.  Cats in general have a soothing effect on me.  I love watching them sleep, that makes me comfy and sleepy too. 

Just an average boring day yesterday.  Boss called at lunch time to chat about cars.  He wanted to know if I bought a new one yet.  He’s looking at electric vehicles and I told him no way would I get one of those, the infrastructure isn’t built out yet.  Gas power is still where it’s at for now.  Although there are 4 or 5 EV charging spots in the parking garage at work.  They are always full.  You are only supposed to park there for like an hour or two at most and then move.  However, most people pull up, plug in and don’t come back until it’s quitting time.  Unless your a super early bird, your pretty much screwed if you want to get a free charge at work.  Anyway, our call took a business turn and he used it to check in with me.  Funny thing is that we have our check in call set for Thursday.  I only have to do them once a month as compared to everyone else on the team who has to do them weekly.  I remember the weekly calls and after a while I simply spoke up and told him that it was getting old and I didn’t want to be helicopter managed but I used much nicer wording.  That was enough to get him to move the call to a monthly basis. 

Finishing off the pizza today from Saturday.  It’s kind of lost it’s luster but I haven’t been attacking it like I normally do, trying to get it to last.  I’ve got some pasta from the grocery store that I need to get eating on.  Not to worry nothing is going to waste here. 

Think I will be headed up as not much is going on at the moment.  Time to relax a bit before the first meeting of the day starts in about an hour.  That hour will fly by fast as all good times do.  Here’s hoping that the drama is low today and the day is just as fast moving as that hour of relaxation I am looking forward to.

Back to Bed

Morning!

Yesterday I managed to do something that I was surprised at.  I stayed awake all day long, no nap or resting.  I figured it would help me sleep better.  Bed time came and I did get to sleep around my normal time (somewhere between 10 & 10:30p).  I woke up at 5a and couldn’t go back to sleep.  Of course Rudy was happy about that he thought he could do his morning dance and get some breakfast.  However, that didn’t work for him.  He soon gave up and left me.  I managed to get Mora to jump in bed with me and we cuddled for a while.  I watched TV and watched the time tick away.  I didn’t want to get out of bed but I did. 

Breakfast is done and here I am in front of the computer.  Nothing going on at work.  I really just want to go back to bed.  I had great aspirations this morning of getting a new system at work configured to do something my boss wants.  I figured out how to yesterday when he was droning on in our meeting about the system.  He was stumbling around and basically like I said wasted a half hour.  The meeting should have never happened.  Not sure what it is about managers and meetings they seem to love them.  Anyway, now that I have the time I don’t have the will.  Thankfully I sat by and kept my mouth shut so no one is expecting anything from me.  Silence can work to your advantage when you use it properly. 

Watched my neighbor cut his grass last night at his vacant house.  He tried to run over the crap he trimmed from his hedge that is sitting in his yard.  He’s got two piles going.  One from years ago and this new one that he started a couple weeks ago.  That failed and was mildly entertaining.  Kind of surprised he came back so soon to cut the grass.

Got two meetings on the agenda today, one just before lunch and one right after.  They are usual Tuesday meetings.  Since I am not on call this week, I could go lay down and relax until someone needs me and honestly it sounds quite appealing.  I know it will please both of the cats.  My back is sure missing getting massages regularly.  I’ve got some serious knots going on. 

Another day of heat & humidity on the way.  Glad that I am tucked away inside a climate controlled house.  I’ll be drinking my water and looking out the windows while working (if anything comes up).  Just waiting anxiously for quitting time to roll around.  Hope you have a great day!

Back to it

Morning!

I enjoyed my Mexican food last night and this time it didn’t talk back to me.  Each time I get food at this place it’s prepared slightly differently but I always order the same thing.  Some of their cooks really know what they are doing and others not so much. 

Spent the evening in my room with the cats.  I passed out treats for them and got a treat myself.  I had some gummi bears.  Watched more You Tube videos about waxing.  Watched a couple relators show off some local houses and eventually went back to Hot In Cleveland. 

Took some extra sleeping medicine and that always brings on strange dreams.  Last nights was horrible and I woke up at 5a.  Of course Rudy thought he could trick me in to passing out an early breakfast but I didn’t fall for it.  He came back to bed with me and protested by continuing to make biscuits and trying to get me up but eventually he just collapsed on me and gave up.  I fell back asleep for a short while and then the battle was back on.  I didn’t give in and get up until 6:45a. 

It’s another oppressively hot & humid day in store here.  The AC kicked on a short time ago and when that happens I just know it’s going to be a hot day.  On a normal day the AC doesn’t kick in until much closer to lunch time.  After today they say we have one more day and then we get a break.  I just want it to go back to being normal summer time temps and nothing blazing hot but the weather is much like a cat, fickle!

Just like last week, I will be much happier when were back looing at the weekend again.  I just enjoy time away far much more than I enjoy working.  That becomes more true the older I get and the longer I work.

The upside is that I am at home, feel the cool AC blowing and have the cats to keep me company.  Plenty of cold water to consume.  I hope that you have a great day.  Stay cool and hydrated.  Talk with you all again soon!

Hot Sunday

Hello!

It’s not the good kind of hot, unless you like oppressively hot & humid weather.  It was 73 this morning when I was up at 6a.  I got moving to get to breakfast, the grocery store and topped off the gas tank before coming home.  I dropped $53 for one bag of groceries, a jug of water for the cats and a jug of milk for me.  I didn’t get a whole lot for my money. 

Picked up a birthday card for one of my Thanksgiving friends.  The price of cards is way up but then again I don’t buy them often.  I thought that was bad until I went to put a stamp on the card to mail it, wow.  Everything is just going way up in price.  Sure wish paychecks went up like that. 

Got my morning nap in.  Been watching waxing gone wrong videos on YouTube.  Now there is some interesting stuff and everyone's reaction is pretty much the same “ouch that hurts”.  I’d like to wax my nose and ears but shaving is much easier and far less painful.  Although I do have one particular ear hair that I love to grab with a pair of tweezers.  It’s quite a challenge to find it but when I do and rip it out, it feels so good. 

In case it’s not apparent, yes I am quite bored.  The cats gave me an unwanted surprise.  One of them threw up by the sliding glass door and the blinds hid it.  That did nothing but serve as food for ants.  I had ants everywhere and didn’t understand why until I peeked behind the blinds.  Jeez I wasn’t happy.  Trying to get rid of ants isn’t exactly a pleasant job but it’s totally doable.  Tackled that and got the house cleaning done. 

I came down to log expenses, get this card ready to mail and briefly surf the web.  I have laundry to pick up and then I am done with the basement until tomorrow. 

Not looking forward to another week of work but thankful that I have a job.  The boss called a meeting to talk about a tool that we just got, but there are changes needed to be made and we need to coordinate with another team for that.  He knows this but yet he wants to chew the fat about the tool.  I think he’s the tool for calling the meeting to waste our time.  Yeah, I’m not a meeting fan.  I like to keep to myself, stay low and stay off the radar.  This is going to be a busy week, particularly Friday when our interns leave.   

Count down until my next vacation and birthday stands at 6 weeks, that includes this week.  So at least there is something to look forward to. 

As for today I plan to get to the Mexican place for supper and stop at a mailbox to get the card I bought mailed.  Then it’s back home.  Rudy just came to join me as I am about ready to wrap up.  He wants to nap in my arms/lap.  He’s so cute and this doesn’t happen often enough.  I kind of feel compelled to stay here just a while longer as he gets comfy.  However, I think I am headed up.  I don’t feel the best and attribute that to the heat/humidity.  Going to hydrate and relax as the day passes me by.  Hope you all have a great Sunday.  Take care!

Saturday

Greetings one and all!

We are in the middle of a heat wave, and my poor AC is running like crazy. It’s doing a great job, and my hope is that it continues. Changed the filter a little bit ago because it was time.

I woke up super early and took my shower. Made it for breakfast. A cute young guy that works there walked in. He looked mighty fine! I asked my waitress if he played for my team. She said she wasn’t sure but that he was the owner’s son. I wanted to ask him on a date, but I passed on the opportunity.

Stopped by and grabbed the mail on the way home. Nothing but bills and junk mail. Then I got out of my clothes and relaxed in my room watching TV. Turned my phone off, that felt so good! Eventually I wound up back in bed and the cats joined me. I fell back asleep for about an hour, and it was needed.

I have such great ideas of things that need to be done around here but when it comes time to do them, I lack energy and motivation. Not sure why that is but the work isn’t going anywhere, it will wait for me.

Something that puzzles me is that within the last couple months I cleaned out the gutter over the deck and put the netting back in place. It’s back to overflowing again. I don’t know how there can be anything in there, but obviously there is. It’s too hot for gutter work today. I am not a fan of water or gutters. I think the gutters for this house are undersized and need to be upgraded to accommodate the rain we get. However, every house in the subdivision is cookie cutter aka tract housing, meaning that there are only so many floor plans. No one has special gutters that I am aware of or even new gutters. I’d just love to get something that is 100% maintenance free and it just works, no fuss, no muss.

Had an afternoon snack and passed out lunch for the cats. I wound up back in my room watching TV again. Mostly old cartoons because there doesn’t seem to be anything on YouTube that is piquing my interest.

I came down to take care of laundry, catch up on porn surfing and getting bills paid. Had to entertain Mora giving her attention and rubbing her belly. She leaves and comes back wanting more. She loves attention and soaks it up like a sponge. I love her but she can make it quite difficult for me to get things done. That’s why I don’t allow either of them down here with me when I am working. Although Rudy will just climb up in my lap and fall asleep, he doesn’t really need much attention and will let me type but he likes to lay against one of my arms or curl up in it. Yeah, they are both really something and I love them so much!

Decided on Pizza for supper. I went back to the place where there used to be lots of twinks working. I figured that going on Saturday would change things up and the guys would be back. Turns out I was wrong. Only saw one hot guy. Pizza could have cooked a little bit more it wasn’t quite done enough for me. I had a couple slices and then boxed the rest and came home.

Very bored and wanting company and entertainment. However, I’m going to have to suck it up and power through it. I’ve done it before, but it has started to be a little more difficult. Being lonely just isn’t any fun. It’s great to live alone and be your own boss so to speak of but outside of that, there are no other perks. I don’t know if I want to live with someone but knowing that I could make a phone call and have company or ask for help would be nice.

Yesterday after work I got so bored I took time to read the owner’s manual for my new alarm. I learned a couple things. One of which is that there is a microphone in the damn thing and when an alarm goes off you can talk to the monitoring station. I’m not hip about that because that can easily be hacked and bypassed so that you can always listen. There is a camera on the panel, but you must be in front of it. However, I’ve got an Alexa and it’s always spying on me too. It’s in my bedroom and I’m sure some Amazon employee has heard all the orgasms I have. Speaking of which earlier this week I had a super good one (not that there is such a thing as a bad orgasm) and I was so loud I scared the cats, they just looked at me as if they wanted to ask if I was okay. I used to scare poor Momma she would come running to check on me if she wasn’t in the room. Yeah, I’m loud in bed. It’s a learned habit from watching porn and honestly it just feels good to scream or moan loudly. I can be quiet if I must but that is not easy at all. I’m still waiting for someone to call the cops to check on me. There is no doubt that if you’re on the street by my house, you can hear me 100%, I’ve got some good lungs. Fortunately, most of the time there is no one out there at night walking when I am busy having fun. That’s probably for the best because it sure would be awkward to explain to the cops that I was beating my meat. Although, I’m sure there are some situations they are involved in that bring laughter to their faces. I mean they are human too, even though some of them would have you think otherwise.

Well, time to get this published and see what else I can accomplish this evening. Tomorrow for supper I am thinking of staying local and going back to a Mexican place I like. It won’t give me the travel that I want but it will get me some good food! Who knows, things might change but pretty much once I make up my mind it’s difficult to change it.

Soup for me

Morning and Happy Friday!

It’s early and calm.  Hopefully calm will be the theme for today!  Yesterday was fairly calm and quiet.  I pretty much got to take the morning off and lay around the house.  I had a couple minor interruptions.  After lunch is when things picked up a little bit and I wound up getting a little busy. 

Kept thinking about BBQ and I honestly wanted it but my stomach was doing some tricks yesterday.  I opted to just stay put and have some Broccoli Cheese Soup for supper.  It was pretty good.  I also finished off the large piece of chocolate cake that I got last Saturday.  Jeez that was so good and lasted quite a long time.  I forgot to pickup whipped cream from the grocery store on Sunday it would have paired nicely with it. 

Rudy was extra snuggly yesterday and hung around me for a good portion of the day as well as the evening.  We got in some play time before bed.  He really begged me for it.  I was ready to play and as usual he started bathing himself.  Not sure what that is all about.  Anyway I gave up and went to brush my teeth.  He sought me out and asked again for play time.  I tried again and this time he really got into it.  Our play sessions are not quite as intense as they used to be.  I supposed that comes with age.  However, he’s still young and has a lot of pep left in him.  I had to play with Mora as well and she never has a problem getting into it.  She seems like she is always read for playtime.  I think Rudy begs me for her and not so much for himself but this little habit of his all started with him wanting to play.  It was an out of the blue thing one day and I gave in.  He’s remembered ever since and when I start brushing my teeth he’s ready for playtime.  Not exactly a bad way to end the day. 

I wound up watching some YouTube videos and then back to Hot In Cleveland before I eventually fell asleep.  I woke up in the middle of the night to use the restroom but was able to get back to sleep with ease.  Rudy had me up at 6a this morning and I just laid in bed with my eyes closed.  He really did his best to try to get me up but eventually he gave up until he saw me open my eyes and then I spoke to him.  That’s when he got excited all over again.  I love seeing his smiling face every morning.  He’s always in a good mood come morning time.  I think that is because he knows food is just around the corner, just have to get the human out of bed. 

No real plans for the weekend, other than hopefully getting up early tomorrow, having a shower and going out for breakfast.  Then I will need to figure out where I want to eat dinner at. Problem is that unless I stay local I will for sure run into construction.  I hate it.  We have never had every route torn up at once but I suppose it will be nicer when it’s all done.  I am ready for it all to be done.  I don’t like impediments when I am traveling, anymore than anyone else does. 

Well off to climb the steps, login from upstairs and see if I can find my favorite judge on you tube.  That’s always entertaining and enjoyable to watch.  He’s got quite the personality and keeps things lively for the most part.  Just don’t make him mad, that’s not good for anyone.

Too smart of a cat

Morning

Insomnia hit me again as I woke up from an early morning dream.  It was only 4a.  I went to sit in my chair and felt the cushion to feel that Mora was sitting in it.  I’d rather know before I sit down, wouldn’t want to squash her or risk injury to me.  I went back to bed and watched TV from there.  She got up and hopped over to join me.  Then Rudy came in and she left, he took her place.  I got back to sleep and felt like I was out for 5 minutes when I looked at the clock again it said 6a.  Rudy was on top of me, tickling me with his tail as it brushed across my face.  You can’t tell me he didn’t know what he was doing. 

I got up to feed them and enjoy breakfast as well.  That’s when I discovered Rudy’s newest mess.  I spoke a few days ago of getting cat food delivered.  I put the bag on top of a box and thought nothing of it.  Well Rudy has been eyeing it and I saw him climb up and smell the bag yesterday.  This morning the bag was on it’s side and had claw marks in it.  No matter what type of dry food I get he knows what it is and has to be nosy.  I cleaned up his mess and transferred the food to the old bag that was just about empty.  This has happened to me 3 times, it won’t ever happen again.  I will put all spare dry food in a different room where he has no access.  He knew I wasn’t happy with him but I got over it pretty quickly.  Damn cat he’s just too smart for his own good!

Ah, Thursday a day hopefully for me to coast.  Nothing on my agenda but the mistake maker decided he needed a couple days off.  His wife is about to blow with another kid and he is taking time to get the nursery in order.  The due date is 30th of August but doesn’t sound like she is going to make it because the baby is getting quite large.  Both of his previous kids came early so it wouldn’t be out of character for her to have this one early as well.  Fingers crossed she doesn’t blow until next month.  I say that because he’s for sure taking 2 weeks when the kid arrives, not that I can’t live without him for 2 weeks but timing is everything.  If it happens this month that will cause a lot more work for me, which I’d like to avoid. 

The new guy is just taking work like he is a sponge and can’t get enough of it.  He doesn’t say no to anything or at least hasn’t yet.  He is still in the honeymoon phase and wow I remember those days.  That has long worn off.  It sure what nice while it lasted.  I suspect that he will grow out of this phase as everyone eventually does.  However, right now he can ride the wave and gobble up work it helps me out. 

If the weather cooperates and I feel like it, I’d like to go out tonight for BBQ.  It would change things up for me.  If not it’s not like I will go hungry, I will just have something less enjoyable.

Here’s hoping it’s a good day and rest of the week.  I am looking forward to breaking free from work and enjoying the weekend.  Strawberry Cinnamon French Toast sounds so good!  I can practically taste it.

Exhausting Day

Hope you are staying cool and had a great day.

Things started off early for me.  I had a couple clues that I should have gone in to the office this morning but I ignored them.  One of which was Rudy waking me up at 6a.  As the morning wore on I found myself taking a trip to the office to fix something.  I hung out for a little bit because I had a meeting and then after that I raced home. 

Coming home was a little bit more difficult than going over, because construction is everywhere around here.  It’s like peak season.  It took me 30 minutes to travel in via a straight shot.  Going home took me an hour and it wasn’t a straight shot.  However, I did follow the best route as directed by Waze. 

I was never so happy to be home.  My phone chirped the whole way home and I wondered what was waiting for me but turns out it was honestly just noise.  I got lucky.  That happens to me once and a while, believe it or not. 

Hopefully, I don’t have to go in any more this week. One trip was enough.  Glad that I moved when I did so it’s behind me.  It’s hot outside and getting out in the thick of it didn’t exactly do wonders for me. 

I had to rush to eat lunch when I got home, then jump on another meeting.  Then I had a break and decided to laydown.  I did doze off for a short moment but my phone made sure I wasn’t out for long. 

Bossman is back and said that he found out yesterday that he has high blood pressure and he has some medicine for it.  However, his doctor thinks he has sleep apnea.  He said that he’s had severe headaches for a few days.  That sounds more like a side effect of HBP than sleep apnea but whatever.  I’m just glad his doctor isn’t my doctor.  It takes a week if not two before he can get lab results and he has to call, there is no app to look at.  I remember those days but it was several years ago.  I like looking at an app to see the results something about it makes me feel better. 

Tomorrow looks to be busy but Thursday right now appears to be a cake walk unless something wrecks that for me.  I’m just ready for the weekend and it’s only Tuesday.

Ugh–Monday

Morning … The boss is out sick today.  Here’s hoping it’s something that will keep him at bay for a while but then again I am not that lucky. 

My inbox was chocked full of email coming in at 124 messages.  A lot of which were noise or junk.  I worked through it rather quickly but it took a toll on my nerves.  Now I am trying to prepare for our interns that are leaving next Friday.  There is a bunch of information I have to gather prior to them leaving as well as dividing up who is doing what.  It’s kind of nice having an extra person to add into the mix.  However, it’s also more work because it’s another person I have to baby sit and double check to make sure the fuck up ferry doesn’t visit them. 

I’ve got part of the work done but had to take a break as it’s kind of labor intensive and makes you want to scream.  Usually I can power through it but not right now.  My brain is kind of all over the place.

Sunday, I made it out for breakfast and the usual morning errand running.  I stayed local for supper and went to a local Mexican place.  Got a great meal but the sauce they used bothers my stomach.  I was prepared ahead of time and took an anti-acid pill but still I had some issues.  Got the house cleaned and took time to relax.  It was a great day but I kept thinking about dreaded Monday.

Ordered some cat food from Amazon.  It was delivered early this morning and the lazy ass driver put it in front of the garage.  If I didn’t have cameras it would have sat there probably until Thursday when I put the trash out.  Didn’t help that they set it right in a pile of ants.  I was not happy at all. 

Then just as I got settled down stairs and was starting to work my way through my email.  Rudy decided to pick a fight with Mora and I had to go upstairs to break it up.  That wasn’t fun.  Rudy’s tail was all puffed out and I could tell he was pissed.  Mora was running around trying to duck him and nervous that I guess I would lash out at her but I petted her and told her it was okay.  Back to the basement and all has been quiet, thankfully! 

It’s past normal lunch time and I will head up soon to not only pass out lunch for the cats but to grab something for myself.  Then will head back down and keep plugging away.  Until I am done and no longer need my desktop and can change over to working from my laptop and be upstairs.  It’s much cooler down here though. 

Heard on the news this morning that starting tomorrow we will be back in another heat wave.  Oh joy, not my favorite thing but I will be indoors.  Praying the AC can keep up.  It’s done a really good job this year and the older (and fatter) that I get the more I appreciate AC, it’s one of the best things ever.

ROTTING SATURDAY

Happy Saturday! I hope that your weekend is going well.

I woke up early to feed the cats and after about an hour of watching TV, I went back to bed. Got up around 10a and had a poor choice for breakfast, which was a half slice of Chocolate Cake and a tall glass of milk. When I was done, I wanted more. However, I got my morning meds and retired in front of the TV.

Had a short search for a good movie. Landed on How to Make a Killing on HBO. About 30 minutes into that I paused, went to the kitchen to grab a Diet Coke and a Brownie. Then came back and finished the movie. I set my brownie on the bed; Mora was there and no sooner than I sat down than she had her nose over it and was ready to pounce. I caught her in the nick of time! The snack which I called lunch was good, but the movie was way better. I do recommend watching it.

Watched a couple of random YouTube videos and then went back to Hot in Cleveland. Eventually I wound up back in bed and fell asleep. It was so enjoyable, but I was letting the day pass by. I decided time to get moving. Fed the cats lunch, it was 1:30pm. Then I shaved and showered. Threw on some clothes and decided on what to do while I was out.

First order of business was lupper. Went back to an Italian Place that me and my late spouse as well as friends have been to. It’s been at least a year since I was there. I knew with my timing it would be walk right in and sit right down, which is what I like. Had a Cesar Salad, some phenomenal bread, a few Diet Soda and Lasagna. Desert was Chocolate Cake, but I got it to go. With a tip I dropped $55. I don’t usually spend that kind of money on myself when I eat out but damn this was long overdue and so damn good. This visit reminded me of what I’ve been missing. It’s also right by the office, how convenient!

I left feeling damn stuffed and telling myself that I needed to get back there more often. Sure, it’s expensive but it’s also very much worth it. It’s always a great experience, much better if you’re with at least one other person.

Next up on the list was stopping to grab the mail. Having completed that, next stop was to pick up Cat Food. There is a hot manager at the pet food store. I’ve had my eye on him for years. Got to see him. I’ve never made a move, but we have interacted a few times. My little voice told me as I was walking out the door to make a move, but I didn’t listen to it. I figured it’s better to admire and get excited from a far than to get rejected, at least that is what I expected. I have no idea if he likes guys but eventually, I may inquire. The worst he can say is no, which I am so used to hearing.

Finally, back here at ELHOMO, greeted by the ELGATO’S who were quite hungry. They got something special for supper. Chicken & Spinach. It was a true hit and for the $2.00 I paid for the small can of it, I am glad they ate practically every morsel of it.

My jackass neighbor I saw returned. He is whipping his property into shape. Put some more work into his deck steps and trimmed the bushes. There is brush everywhere so I wonder how long it will take him to clean that mess up? He is great at making messes, not so great at cleaning them up. However, I think that his wife is nagging him to do something with the place. It can’t be cheap to make two house payments. I think they will either rent or sell the place and someone new will be occupying it sooner rather than later. I am waiting with anticipation, hoping that it’s a hot single gay guy but kind of unlikely since it’s a single-family home with 3 bedrooms but hey never say never!

Started working on laundry and resigned myself to playing on the computer for a bit. Eventually I will head up. I wanted to change my deck camera batteries, but I can easily do that tomorrow. I’d like to do it when no one is around. Not in a huge major hurry either but want it off my to do list.

Another movie that I watched while I was off in the last couple weeks is Voicemails for Isabelle. It’s got Nick Robinson in it and he’s cute and there are a couple of nude scenes which were nice. However, while I was interested in those and him, I was more interested in the plot of the movie, and it turned out to be very good. I recommend watching it.

That’s pretty much it for today. Tomorrow will be the usual of eating breakfast out, hitting up the grocery store, filling the gas tank again, cleaning the house and having an evening meal out. Then preparing for Monday, ugh I don’t want to go back. However, unless I meet an independently wealthy man who falls madly in love with me before Monday, I think I’m going to have to return to working despite not wanting to.

DAY 2 – Friday Off

Hey, hope it was a great day for you!

I started my day at 2a with insomnia. Stayed up until 4am and then was able to go back to sleep. My last words before falling asleep were “Rudy, please don’t wake me at 6a”. Rudy woke me at 6:45a instead. I knew he wouldn’t let me sleep. That’s okay, I got up and fed him. Then threw on some clothes and headed out for breakfast.

Had Cinnamon French Toast with Strawberry’s, very good. Two ladies were in front of me when it was time to pay and I picked up their breakfast. What a dumb move on my part, because they apparently packed it away. I dropped $50 with a tip, that included my breakfast.

Headed to a bakery shop thinking that I would surprise my Thanksgiving friends with some baked goods. However, the shop was closed. I really wanted this to work out but perhaps another time.

Stopped for gas before going home. Grabbed the trash bin and wheeled it inside the garage. Went inside to greet the cats. Headed out to the front porch to change the batteries in that camera. Blew off the porch and sidewalk. That scared the cats and they went to hide in my room. They both hate the blower. It’s just air, nothing that will harm them. I think it’s more the noise the thing makes.

Sat around watching my favorite judge on You Tube until it was time to leave for my haircut. Got my head shaved seriously short, it’s not down to skin but that would be the next step. I knew I’d be sorry because the itching had already started. I am taking a shower tonight and scrubbing my head good!

Hit up Sam’s Club after my haircut. Got those brownies that I wanted, some soda and a bag of chocolates. There went another $42. It’s way too easy to spend money, no wonder I work for a living!

Came back home, waited until it was time to leave for my big adventure, which was traveling back to the seafood restaurant I went to a few weeks back. Wow, this time I had to go to the bathroom on the way there. I should have listened to the GPS and re-routed to avoid a backup of traffic but, no I was stubborn and thought it wouldn’t be that bad. Spent 18 minutes in bumper-to-bumper traffic with a full bladder. Stupid me, I always pay some price when I don’t listen to the GPS. This isn’t the first time I’ve ignored it. The traffic set me back and it was closer to 5p when I got there. Took me a few minutes to find a place to park. Then walking in there was a line to stand in for tables. Not exactly what I wanted to do with a full bladder but some how I made it. Got seated at the same table I had last time. Different person took care of me. Had the Strawberry Pina Colada it was basically rum (heavy on the rum), pineapple and coconut in a glass. Not worth the $8 I paid for it and I didn’t even finish it. Had stuffed Orange Roughy which was good but the Broiled Orange Roughy I had last time was much better. Got my Au gratin Potatoes but they were tasteless. I had them as a kid growing up and thought they would take me back, I’ve been craving them for a long time, but this was a disappointment. I only spent $4 more than last time and I didn’t have any alcohol last time.

The drive home was much more enjoyable than the drive up because we moved all the way home. I even got to speed – went 100 mph for a short while. My car still has performance and twin turbos help. Don’t worry, I drove the speed limit for most of the way home because I can’t afford to waste gas by driving like I am in the Indy 500 but for the short time I did, it sure was fun. It was a long patch of freeway, and I was breaking away from a pack of traffic. It was fun to watch them disappear in my rear-view mirror. Gas mileage should have been 28mpg, but I got 26mpg from sitting in traffic and then my speed racer impression. All things considered not horrible, but it could have been better.

Stopped for a car wash before I headed home. Perfect timing for that. I just missed a thunderstorm by an hour. Were supposed to have rain all weekend and most of next week. It’s been in the forecast for the past couple days, but it just sprinkles and then the sun comes back out.

Got the dishes washing while I came down to play on the computer, pay a bill, see my personal email and of course surf for porn. Glad that I still have 2 more days before I must go back. Not looking forward to that at all but then again, I never do look forward to going back.

Ah I got one test result back but the rest of them are taking their sweet time. The lab they used this time takes their sweet time so likely tomorrow the results should be available. Not that it’s going to change anything, but I’d like to see how my body is performing.

Not a bad day but I kind of hoped for more fun than I had. I’ve got to get cat food tomorrow and pick up the mail again. Nothing per se planned, other than trying to stay cool and hydrated. No idea of where I want to eat tomorrow but I know I won’t go hungry, which is a good thing!

An okay day

Howdy, hope all is well.

I woke up early fed the cats.  Hung out for a bit to make sure that Mora would eat and that she didn’t get cheated out of food.  I sat at the kitchen table and waited for hog jaws (aka Rudy) to finish.  Then I called her like I do every morning and she was already on the move toward the kitchen.  After she ate, I went back to my bedroom.  I climbed in bed and watched TV for a little bit.  The cats joined me.  I decided that I should get up and at least eat breakfast.  Had a bowl of cereal to polish off the box and a banana. 

Got my morning meds and then headed back to my room to watch TV.  Eventually wound up at porn and watched a few scenes.  After cleaning up the mess, I went back to watching normal TV.  Got tired about 30 minutes after that and climbed back into bed with the cats.  I had to physically move Rudy and he was pissed about it.  I know he’s like me once he gets comfy leave me alone.  However, he was taking up significant room and without moving him there would have been no room for me.  He laid up against me and tried to push me out of bed.  It was funny but it didn’t work.  Took about an hour nap and then was wide awake. 

Watched more TV when I woke up but kept looking at the clock and realized that it would be to my benefit if I got moving.  Hit up the shower and got dressed.  Headed out to get the mail and then came back home for a short bit.  About the time I was comfy it was time to leave.  I was a little bit earlier than what Waze told me to leave, but ran in to a little bit of traffic as well as some light rain.  Arrived at the doctors office with 10 minutes to spare. 

On the way over I saw a billboard for Arby’s and it was close to an exit where there is an Arby’s.  It transported me back to a memory that I had with my late spouse.  It felt like it was all playing out in real time as I continued to drive.  It’s been 13 years and out of the blue something can trigger me.  It happened a lot more often in the early years.  I kind of figured that it was done but apparently not. 

This visit seemed rushed at least to me.  He was on time, I only had to wait a couple minutes before I was taken to an exam room.  Then after my vitals were taken, it was just a couple minutes and the doc was in.  We chatted and he moved to get his exam done.  I complained about being stuck for blood multiple times.  The doc walked me to the lab and requested the best sticker they had.  The lady who took my blood got it on the first try.  The doc said to come back in 6 months.  I don’t know why we switched this year from every 3 months to every 6 months.  I won’t be back until January.  I know that time will fly by.  I am still waiting on lab results, normally they are in by the time I am home but I got nothing.  I’m guessing they will come in tomorrow, which is fine. 

Went to the place that sucks at making pizza.  Ordered my favorite pasta dish.  I had a smoking hot young waiter.  I wanted to hit on him so bad.  All I know is that I wanted to say if I looked as good as you do, I wouldn’t be single.  I tell the cats all the time that if I had their good looks I wouldn’t be single.  I ate, paid my bill and left.  It would be nice to go back to work with a boyfriend but I’m not holding my breath.

Got the batteries in the garage camera changed.  Put the trash out and I’m home for the day.  Caught up on my porn surfing.  Yeah I peeked at work email earlier today because I was bored.  I didn’t respond to anything but took time to delete a couple of messages that were nothing but noise.  Then switched work email off.  I really want to login now and play catch up but that’s working and well I am off.  I guess I am too devoted to my job and take it way too seriously.  No wonder I get frustrated so easily and want to throw my hands up and walk out. 

Crunched numbers on a new vehicle just for fun.  It would be a bit costly even with a sizeable down payment and trade in.  However, I could make it work if I had to.  Then I realized that my calculations didn’t include GAP insurance, it can’t be that much more.  I will never ever buy a car without it.  Even though I’ve never had to use it.  It’s one of those things that if you need it, your glad that you have it.

Tomorrow’s agenda includes breakfast out, a haircut, trip to Sam’s club for fuel and more brownies if they still have them.  In the afternoon traveling back to the seafood place to get a strawberry Pina Colada [really hope it’s good and worth my money] and some fish.  Might hit up the pet food store if I don’t then that will be a Saturday task.  Looking forward to the drive and hope that the rain stays away.

That’s all I know at the moment.  Mora is telling me it’s time to head up, as if it’s a work night.  If it was I wouldn’t be down here.

I heard something in watching YouTube videos.  I think George Carlin said it.  You know people have a lot of good things to say about you, problem is you won’t ever hear them until your dead.  There is a lot of truth in that statement.  He was smart and funny.
