This is sort of how I feel, tired & frustrated. I made preparations to head into the office this morning. Part of me really didn’t want to go because a good portion of my team is out and it’s just me & boss man. Thankfully he doesn’t have our usual meetings scheduled until later this afternoon but I am hoping that he realizes it’s just us and will cancel them. Needless to say I didn’t make it to the office because Gator timed her wakeup call at 3a. That cinched it for me. I fed her and then moved the alarm up an hour. In looking for photos for this post I found an article that suggests that if your cat is always hungry they could be lonely and/or depressed. There were other health related items but I have already had those checked and they aren’t at play. Those items never crossed my mind but it might be something to consider. I would like to get back to the office before someone gets word back to my boss that I haven’t been in for a couple weeks. While I think there is a very low chance that will happen I would rather not risk it. Just make an appearance for a day and that should take care of things. I do plan to try again tomorrow but again it will dependent upon how much sleep I get.
This isn’t Gator but the photo kind of represents her always hungry symptom. She doesn’t finish off a lot of the cans of food that I open but others she devours. After she finished her early morning meal she came back to my room and was in her bed. I turned the TV on because I knew I wouldn’t be able to fall asleep right away, she started crying. I had to get out of bed and put her in my lap. She sat with me for about 20 minutes and then she had to go. I think she was thirsty. I took it as an opportunity to get back in bed and a short time later I turned the TV off and tried to go back to sleep. It was a restless sleep where I was out, awake and then out again.
I did take notice that she polished off all of the treats before she woke me up, so perhaps the vet is on to something with the theory she just wants a midnight snack but more often than just at midnight.
The weekend was filled with wakeup calls but last night she only did it once but it was her timing that wasn’t good for me.
This is starting to grate on my nerves and I really want it to stop. I still want my cat but I’d like to be able to resume a normal routine of sleep which would make for a better wake experience overall. I can’t say that she would be happier or better but I know I would be. My love for her is strong so I just can’t give up on her, I would forever wonder what if. She does have me held hostage though, despite the quick trips out on the weekends that she permits me to make.
If you’ve been here or searched through the history, you know I am not one to throw up my hands and give up. I am a fighter but I do understand that there are some battles you can’t win. That said I am still very much fighting to get this issue resolved. I think there are a few more avenues to explore and some additional monies to be spent to try to regain that sense of normal.
This is the dreaded Mophie battery case for my iPhone that I have had such horrible luck with lately. I heard back from ZAGG/Mophie yesterday. They registered my device and then told me how I could obtain a replacement but it would involve paying a small shipping charge and they would need a credit card on-file. While I understand that it is far easier to just return it to Amazon and ask for a refund, which is what I did. SMH!
I did place yet another order for a new one and it should arrive today. It’s actually costing me a few cents more but if it works then this will be worth it.
If this doesn’t work then I have one other idea. That is to get a mag safe case and get a snap on battery pack that attaches via magnets that should do the trick. The only questions that remain are can I leave the battery on full time and discharge it at will? I believe this to be a yes. Will the battery charge via my magnet qi Mophie chargers that I have a heavy investment into or do I have to plug it in to charge it? If that answer is a yes then this will be a cheaper solution in the end.
My final option is to just give up and use the Mophie that I had prior to this that is on it’s last leg. It still charges but it’s more of a burst of like 10% battery power and then it’s done. It at least works via qi charging when I place it on the charger. This is my second Mophie and since I have experience on how they work I know that what I have been through has been quite abnormal. I think that they had a bad batch or their quality control has slipped. A YouTube video that I watched showed the problem and then they guy said that this was in the replacement unit he got from Mophie. They have a 2 year warranty and they stand behind their product but it doesn’t seem to be the same solid quality company that I have been used to doing business with. That said, if I didn’t have a huge investment in their chargers I would just abandon them but they kind of have me in a bit of a pickle. Sure it’s just a simple matter of money to solve the problem but why throw out the baby with the bath water.
There you have it, ye old Tuesday update. I need to try to stay awake but I know that eventually I am going to topple and get in a quick nap. Not a whole lot going on at work today but since I am the lone ranger I have to stay alert as things can and often do change with little to no notice. I am hoping for a peaceful day.
In other news I see on social media that Charlie Puth has unleashed some thirst trap photos. There is one where he is standing and his pants are down in back so that you see his crack. There is another one with a frontal view (nothing showing) but it’s suggestive. He’s been quite regular with the thirst trap photos over the past few weeks. I love his music and it was his voice that lured me in. However, I have fallen for him and even though I know he’s straight I still wouldn’t kick him out of bed for any reason. He’s got a great voice and I think a decent career provided that he continues to play his cards right. Musically he is releasing tracks one by one instead of releasing his whole next album which should be out later this year and titled Charlie. His famous song See You Again which was written for Paul Walker and put in the Fast & Furious Movie as a tribute when Paul passed away is what grabbed me. It was like he took a lot of what I wanted to say to my late spouse. That’s when I became a fan of this then unknown artist who has since skyrocketed to fame. His body is as beautiful as his voice, no wonder people are always asking him to show more. The more you give the more people want. If you are looking for a new artist to listen to, check him out.
