I managed to get up at a decent hour, despite being woke up early AM by The Gator. I fed her and then closed the door to my room so that I could get back to sleep. Sleep I did, pretty good but like food & sex I always want more.
I fed Gator and then had a quick breakfast. Got my meds and dressed. Then it was off to the gas station where I filled up Mr. Thirsty 8 gallons @ $39 total but where I went threw in a basic car wash for free. Nothing fancy a little water, soap, 2 rinses and blow dry. It didn’t do a whole lot but then again it was free. I still want to hit up the new car wash I found but rain is in the forecast so I’m putting that on hold. Off to the grocery store where it was empty and easy to make my way through to spend my money. I switched things up this week and got a Black Forrest Strawberry 1/2 cake. Not like I need it as it will add extra weight but my soul could use some comfort. I like a good Black Forrest Cake and there is only one bakery that I know that does the job but they are a ways away from here and I’ve only had their product because it was ordered in at work. Damn that is some good stuff. I switched to sugar cereal this week, not like I need that either but making Oatmeal or hot cereal gets old and it’s nice to switch it up.
Came home, unpacked and got things put away. Then I put on the rubber gloves and went to sprinkle this pellet stuff to repel the mice. It looks like a rodent went to the bathroom in the bag but it smelled very strong of peppermint and other things. Not pleasant to me but I am not a mint guy. I took care of the back and side of the house. Thinking that this will help keep them away. I found some of the same stuff on Amazon but it’s listed as “rain proof” so when it comes time to do this again I will order that and it looks to come in 1 gallon jugs and is cheaper than what I spent at the big box store. Since it’s been so hot out and after what I read about how heat is not good for mice, that is going to be the theme here for a while, I don’t see how they will survive if there are in fact mice in the attic or walls of the house. I’ve got those pouches to spread that will dehydrate and kill them but elected to forego the attic for now. Just not crazy about getting on a ladder. If there is more activity or I feel like it’s needed I can always climb up there later be that in a week or 3 months or even this winter. The traps are all clear so perhaps this was a stray the wondered in but it looked to be so young. I’m just not crazy about sharing my house with anything or anyone other than Gator.
Speaking of the house I got an offer in the mail yesterday from an investment group that wants to buy the place. They made me a super low ball offer of $185 thousand when other houses here are selling for $200-$270 thousand. They said to call and they could possibly get me more money. Their offer would pay off the mortgage and leave me with a decent amount of money left over. I didn’t give it a second thought and shredded it. I am staying put for the time being and most likely unless my future changes I will probably die owning this place. I know without a doubt that if I took the low ball offer they would just flip the place and either sell or rent it out to make back their money and then some. I’d like to see the place flipped but to still live here. I know that’s wishing for the moon & stars.
Working on the laundry now. Vacuumed last night. Still have time to work in a nap and should have plenty of time to relax.
I connected into to work and saw that there are some emails waiting for me. Didn’t look like too many bombs. Took care of the staff change I needed to make and then got out. I will turn work email back on my phone tomorrow when I return for now I am just going to enjoy the peace and quiet for one more day.
Spent a little time with Gator this morning and there will be more of that this afternoon and evening. It’s supposed to rain this afternoon but the forecast has a way of changing so I don’t count on anything unless the prediction is 100% and that is not the case at the moment. It is going to cool off slightly but still be in the mid 70’s to 80’s. There won’t be a whole lot of spring left before we just jump right into summer, which is always the way it seems to go.
Picked up a BBQ Dinner for supper, just don’t want to eat pizza two nights in a row. Looking forward to that and then tomorrow will be back to the march of the work drum. Ho hum, no fun but it will sure pay the bills.
