Happy Saturday and welcome back! I hope that the weekend is going well for you.
There’s not a whole lot going on here (I am thankful for that), typical Saturday. I got woke up by Gator a couple times last night. I am telling you she knows when it’s the weekend. I finally had to close my door just to ensure that I would get some sleep. I was up for a couple hours but eventually was able to get back to sleep.
My original plan was to wake up early, get breakfast and a shower, then head out to the UPS Store, Cat Food Store and once the Pharmacy opened at the grocery store go there. Do my grocery shopping and get my medicine. It’s something I could cross off my list for Sunday.
What actually happened was I didn’t want to get out of bed but kept looking at the clock each time I woke up. I got out of bed at 10a, got breakfast. Checked for work email and played on my phone for a bit. Sat in my chair and kept thinking about how wonderful it would be to go back to bed. After I bargained with myself, I got moving by 10:30a and got that shower. Then I hit up the UPS Store, post office and then circled back to the pharmacy at the grocery store. Then home. Where it was time to grab a soda and rest.
I sat in my room with the ceiling fan on high, it was starting to get humid out so this felt really good. I watched a little TV and then grabbed a pillow and it was lights out for a couple hours. Gator was sleeping on the couch so we each got some alone time. It was enjoyable but I was and still am sleepy.
When I got up, I headed out to grab some cat food. I found duck cat food, thought that was interesting so I bought a couple cans, they are small cans at $1.39 each. It’s something new and different. I also grabbed a large tub of treats. They didn’t have a whole lot of choices for her regular food but I grabbed what I could. Then it was off to grab a bite to eat for me. I kind of wanted BBQ but I talked myself into going some place that I have been avoiding for a while. I should have had the BBQ. I wound up with Steak Tips, Baked Potato, Salad (chose Honey Mustard for my dressing) and a cup of Broccoli Cheddar Soup, washed it down with a Diet Pepsi and dropped $30. I didn’t really enjoy the meal but my choices were limited. Service sucked and I almost walked out before someone finally came to take my order.
That’s pretty much a wrap for today. Doing laundry, paying bills, balancing bank accounts and making this post. How exciting can it get? Well, when I go upstairs, I will be turning the dishwasher on and headed to bed. Still have to go Grocery Shopping tomorrow. Debating on what to do for breakfast. Might go out, might stay home. Kind of depends on what time I roll out of bed and how many times I get woken up tonight.
Last night … I placed a large Amazon order that will arrive on Sunday. Thankfully nothing cell phone related. I am getting some fertilizer for a pine/evergreen tree in the front yard. It’s dying because of a vine had tried to strangle the life out of it. It’s been a couple years and each year the poor thing looks worse. I don’t have high hopes that I can save it but I am going to try. It’s a tree that Ruth would watch because the birds flocked there. I am seeing an unusual amount of bird traffic and lots of Cardinals. That tree is special to me because it was here long before we moved in and if I can I’d like to save it. The rest of my Amazon order is just stuff that I needed but it all adds up pretty quick, especially when you put it on your list and delay the purchase as long as you can. That’s what happened here.
I need to make a Target run mostly for cat litter but I am saving that for next week(end) along with my run to Sam’s because it will be time for more soda and bakery.
Today was a warm day, tomorrow even warmer and then on Monday it will be like Summer started were in the 80’s and 90’s for a while. That AC will for sure be running. The power company will love that. Me not so much but I do like to be comfortable and I can’t exist without climate control. I’ve got an intolerance to heat and actually get sick & pass out. Figured that out when I was an Alter Boy serving at a weekday mass. AC was out in the church and having on my clothes, plus the getup that an Altar Boy had to wear, I started feeling a little dizzy. Oddly enough I was serving a mass with my brother. We were kneeling and over and out I went. That was pretty much the end of mass that day for me. I’ve also had experiences as an adult in both a Sauna and a Hot Tub, where I just had to get out before I knew I would pass out.
Digressing back to the Alter Boy story, my brother wasn’t terribly upset when I passed out. He’s the one who talked me into being an Alter Boy and showed me what to do. I served most masses and funeral with him but on occasion there would be a different boy. The priest we had was gay but he never did anything with the kids and lots of people apparently knew of his sexuality but it took a long time before he was transferred out. Great guy and it bothered me a lot to see him go. I had no attraction to him nor did I realize/understand that I was gay. That was an age where innocence was still around. I miss those days of no responsibilities, no bills and no clue about sexuality. Sex is very much like a potato chip once you have it, you can never ever get enough of it and you will want it for the rest of your life. Much like that potato chip. Oddly enough both can cause complications in one’s life. Sex can’t take your life but that potato chip sure can.
I think about tomorrow being Mother’s Day. I sure do miss Gator’s mom. I miss my mom a little bit and also miss my grandmother. Life is so short and you never know when someone will drop out of your life or pass away, which is why I say if your mom is still alive do something special for her tomorrow or at the very least call. One day when she is gone, you will understand more of what I am talking about and it will be all that more special.
Her majesty is summoning me because it’s getting late and she know that this is about the time I normally wrap things up for the night. I am sure she doesn’t want her pill but that is in her immediate future. Just like a toothbrush is in my immediate future.
Sleep tight, enjoy what is left of the weekend. If you’re a mom reading this, I wish you a Happy Mother’s Day. Thanks for stopping by. Off to see my furry friend and get yelled at. Take care!
