8 Full Inches

Morning,

I kept trying to get out yesterday afternoon to work on the windshield but work kept me from doing that.  Finally things settled down after supper and I was able to give it a go. 

I went out to prepare and there to my horror I saw it.  Right between the wiper blades from the bottom of the windshield more on the passenger side an 8 inch crack.  Well that’s nothing I can fix so I had to call in a claim.  The vehicle sitting in the garage in the above average temperatures is what cause the crack to show.  It wasn’t obvious on Saturday or Sunday but it sure is now. 

Best part in this whole process is that I don’t have to leave home to get it fixed.  They are coming to me on Wednesday.  I got a window of time and just have to watch for an update when the tech is on the way.  That will hopefully get me a little break from work as I plan to watch the process.  This is only the 2nd windshield that will have been replaced by a mobile technician.  The 1st one was on a car that I had several years ago.  What I found odd about the claims process is that they tried to upsell me new wipers.  I just had them replaced a couple months ago so they were a little late to the party. 

I would have rather seen 8 inches of something else than a crack in the windshield.  In case your wondering how I know it was 8 inches, I measured it before I called.  That large of a crack equals a replacement with no questions.  At least I have glass resin on hand if I happen to get a minor chip in the future. 

Upgraded my phone to IOS 26.  Wow things are different in both a good and bad way.  I’m still getting used to the changes but my phone largely functions exactly the same as I have been used to.  I don’t go crazy with customizations even though I know they are available.  I am kind of basic in that I get things the way I want them and prefer they stay that way.  Kind of why I don’t like Windows 11 because it changes the way I do things. 

Had Crab Rangoon and a couple slices of pizza for supper last night, it was pretty good.  Played with the cats before bed and Rudy was all about it.  Mora came to beg and I got her ball out and that entertained her for a while until Rudy became interested in it then they both shifted their focus to that.  I got in some playtime this morning with Mora she wanted her belly rubbed and then she decided that my hands were toys and started to munch on them a bit.  They both can be quite silly sometimes. 

Yesterday afternoon I got hit with quite the wave of work but it didn’t really hit until it was closer to time to eat.  Here’s hoping that today will be a bit calmer or at least permit me to end my day on time.
