I woke up early with Rudy on top of me. He was smiling and making his famous biscuits, which never gets old. Mora was at my feet. I greeted both of them and then hauled out of bed to get them breakfast. It was a little darker out than normal and it was pouring rain.
I managed to get dressed and take my morning medicine. I needed to stop at Target but the rain caused me to cancel that. I did make it to breakfast and the grocery store. I am not a fan of getting out in the rain but if I have to then I will only go to the essential places I need to visit.
Made it back home safe & sound. Got the groceries put away and then undressed and relaxed in front of the TV. Mora in my lap and Rudy curled up on the bed. Typical Sunday. As time wore on and the morning got to be more of a normal hour, I was getting sleepy and got up and joined Rudy in bed. We snuggled up together and took a nap which went by way too quick.
After that it was up to get lunch for the cats and me to set out my medication for the week, which is always a task that I don’t enjoy. At least I didn’t drop any pills. Feeling rather lazy I wound up sitting on the couch and turning the TV on.
That’s where I sat for the afternoon, except for the minor cleaning that I did and taking the trash out. I was passing time and counting the moments until I was biting into a burrito.
That time came but the burrito place was closed or so it appeared so I went for BBQ instead. Not nearly the same thing but at least I won’t be hungry tonight.
Last night I was working on something and had a dresser drawer open. I didn’t know Rudy was right below me and he stepped on my toe which caused me to jump and then his back claw sank deep in between my toenail and the edge of my big toe. He gored me and the blood began to flow. By the time I was in the bathroom it was really gushing because I moved. It took me a minute to get things under control and it hurt to clean that out. I thought for sure this morning I’d really feel it but nope all feels normal.
Needless to say I took the opportunity to brush both cats and trim their claws. Which as you can imagine didn’t go over terribly well with them. The brushing is always welcome and I was amazed at the amount of fur I got off of Rudy. The nail trimming is what they objected to and as per usual it was more Mora objecting than Rudy I had to fight with her a bit more than her brother but we got the job done. I only trim front claws but occasionally I will trim the rear. Don’t you know it’s only been a few hours and Mora already has her front claws sharpened, I should give her a couple dull knives to see if she could work any wonders with those.
After I got home from eating I came down and am doing a final load of laundry. Surfing the net for porn, updating finances and really wishing that tomorrow wasn’t Monday.
I’ll be back on-call, which I don’t look forward to and what I really am not going to enjoy is when I have to go in on Thursday. I’ll make the most of it and hopefully it will all end well and be over with quickly.
It’s been a fun day just hanging out with the cats and generally doing nothing. Shame that’s not a full time job that pays because I’d apply. My vacation as of Wednesday will be 1 month away.
Hard to believe that today is the start of Fall with the temps outside at 88 here. We have more rain on the way and the temperatures all week long will be summer like. I’m sure with a little bit more time that will all be changing and then I’ll be breaking out the long sleeves which I despise wearing. Just about the time I am comfortable with them the seasons change and we go back to short sleeves.
