Calming Down

I started off with a bang this morning but the project that I was working on with my part has pretty well been completed.  That will help things slow down.  I’ve knocked out a few other tasks and chosen to put some things off for a bit.  Who knows by this afternoon I might just get bored and go back to knocking things out of my way.

I did take time this morning to plan out 2 weeks of vacation and a floating holiday.  Got 1 week in October and 1 week in November.  That should leave me with 3 days to play with that I will still have to take or loose by the end of the year.  I think I can manage to find 3 days in December that I can take off, even if they aren’t all in a row.  I just have to wait for approval on my request but I’ve marked it down like it’s gospel and already approved.  I’ve got something to look forward to!

My neighbors are fixing up their house, I suppose to be able to tout the improvement to help getting a higher dollar when they sell.  They are getting a new HVAC system.  It doesn’t surprise me because they let all the crap build up on their old exterior unit and that poor thing had to be struggling but it was still working as far as I know.  I am so looking forward to them moving and hope that is still a go and this isn’t just them sprucing up the place to make it more enjoyable for them to stay.

Talked on the phone last night to a friend and the conversation went on far too long.  The cats got cheated out of their play time and I got cheated out of a shower.  Tonight it’s all going to come together.

I enjoyed some spicy Italian Mostaccioli for supper last night.  It was pretty good.  Had some pastry for desert that I am trying to get rid of before they manage to spoil.  Not a problem I deal with often but once and a while it happens.

Just about time to head up to grab some lunch, I know the cats are probably licking their lips with anticipation.  Yesterday Rudy was at the basement door crying when I opened the door, he thought I forgot them.  Kind of an impossible thing to do when they sink their claws in to your heart.  The best part of waking up for me is seeing Rudy and his smiling face, he’s just so happy.

It sucks that we have one more damn day to go but I’ve made it this far I suppose I can make it one more day.  Not sure what I am going to do this weekend, kind of waffling over some plans.  I think it will be a good day to rot and rest, which is probably what will happen.

Take care!
