Friday

Best day of the week has finally arrived.  Even better I plowed through my morning tasks at work and my day is wide open and free.  I just have to watch to see if anything pops since I am on-call.  Friday’s are known for being calm but you never really know what the day has in store. 

I know that come Monday I won’t be on-call any more and I am hoping for a quiet weekend.  Looking forward to my haircut tomorrow as it’s getting longer than I am comfortable with. 

Had problems sleeping, woke up at 2am.  I needed to use the bathroom and took care of that but when I got back to bed I was wide awake and there was no going back to sleep. 

Got up and watched TV for a little over an hour and then went back to bed only to have a horrible dream that never seemed to end.  That is until I heard the banging of the cans from the trash person.  Then Rudy climbed up on my chest and started making biscuits.  I was all too happy to get out of bed learning that I just had a bad dream.  Screwy how the mind works. 

Saw the news that a vast number of Social Security Numbers were leaked in a Data Breach.  The story came to me via KTLA and Rich OnTech (richontech.tv) he’s got a link to a tool that you can search to find out of your data was exposed.  Apparently if you subscribed to a data removal service your not affected.  Since this was a data brokers site that was compromised.  Well I’ve been a customer of a data removal service for 2 years.  My data got leaked no surprise to me.  I found present and former addresses.  My credit reports are frozen and have been for several years as that is truly the best protection and it’s totally free.  Just don’t loose the key or credentials you need to unfreeze or thaw your report.  Having your information exposed seems to be part of the new normal.  I think everyone is entitled to a little bit of privacy but that is quickly becoming a thing of the past.  You have to subscribe to privacy tools like data removal services, spam call filtering and spam email filtering. It just seems to be a never ending vicious cycle and a new way to con you out of your hard earned money.  Problem is there is a new data broker and scammer born every day and it appears to be next to impossible for all of the protection services to keep up with.

With that in mind I will be picking up the mail tomorrow and I wonder what if any fresh hell will be waiting for me, given last weekends surprise. 

Still looking forward to my “vacation” and it’s closer today than it was yesterday.  It will also be here and over before I know it.  Then I will be buried at work and wishing I was on vacation.  That’s the price we pay for taking time off.  I would love to just go on vacation and never come back but that won’t happen until I win a large lottery jackpot and since I don’t play that often I think I will be working up until lunch time on the day of my funeral.
