Mathematical PI Day

PI day is tomorrow.  I say the best way to celebrate is to have a slice of your favorite type of PI.  This almost is good enough to get me on the road to the pie place and heck it might even work, depending upon my mood tomorrow.  If your a math fan Happy Early PI Day.

Last night was all about rest and relaxation.  I had Fettuccini and Garlic Bread for supper.  Then a bit later I had a quart of Baskin Robbins Gold Medal Ice Cream.  The dairy hound came running and he forced me to eat the whole thing so that I could share with him.  Momma wanted in on the action and I wound up spoon feeding her a bit.  I told them both that when they are crying in the litter box I don’t want to hear about it.  Cats are lactose intolerant and therefore their body doesn’t like dairy of any kind, despite popular belief.  I finished up the BSB series on Here and then it was on to regular TV.  I got through Scandal and Nightwatch.  Then it was on to dream land.

With the weather changing the house gets kind of humid in the middle of the night and I wake up all hot.  Not a good feeling but I am certainly not ready to turn on the AC just yet.  I am looking forward to the weekend, I can leave my door open and perhaps that will help cool things off.

It was a rainy and foggy drive into work.  I got here and had to wedge my car into a parking space.  Both vehicles on either side of me were over the line.  I made it and got to squeeze myself out of the car.  I wore a lightweight jacket that my late partner got from his old employer.  I remember when I traveled with the jacket, while he was still alive.  It made me feel like he was with me then and it has the same effect now.  Now if the day was just a little shorter I would be much happier.

It is in fact Friday the 13th again.  Just another day for me.  Last nights mail brought me the tax form from the Bankruptcy attorney.  Good thing I wasn’t waiting on him before I filed my taxes.  I am still waiting for the amended return to process and the balance of my refund to be deposited.  Speaking of taxes, a lot of people in the area have had their identity stolen with fraudulent tax returns filed in their names.  The IRS apparently gives you a pin # to file your taxes so that they can be assured that you and only you file a tax return in your name.  Well for me they didn’t issue a PIN #.  The crooks have already found a way around this and they claim you as a dependant on someone else's tax return, which of course screws up the works for you when you do file.  The best defense is file as early as possible and use a reputable firm or software to do your filing.  Don’t go to Joe’s Fly By Night Tax Service that is only open for 2 weeks out of the year.  It’s a shame that fraud, corruption and stealing have become the many ways of the world in that they are so common place.  I understand greed and wanting to get ahead but if you can’t do it honestly, you have to know in your heart of hearts that it will eventually catch up with you.  I couldn’t live my life waiting and wondering when I would get caught.  The pressure would cause me to crack.  So I work for a living and live above board so that I can breathe freely without having to watch over my shoulder.

I saw an article this morning that Cortana the Windows Assistant is coming to Droid and IOS platforms after Windows 10 launches.  From the commercials she looks a whole lot more intelligent than Siri  I do like Siri despite it’s flaws it has helped me some and there are other times it has frustrated me to no end.  It’s like I say on almost a daily basis to someone, somewhere … Technology is a wonderful thing but only when it works.  Speaking of which I got my issues at home with my PC worked out.  I was starting to have my doubts if it was ever going to get fixed.  :-)

I have no real special plans for the weekend, outside of the usual chores.  I hope the weather is nice and that I can motivate myself to get away, I could use a change in scenery.  I hope you have a great weekend and that the weather is nice in your neck of the woods.  As for me, time to turn on the fan and go back to the grindstone.  Talk with you peeps later.
