Can someone make Monday stop, please? I was all wrapped up last night in Citizen Four, which is a movie all about Edward Snowden. It’s 2 full hours and I had to stop after hour 1. Most of the information I have learned from watching other shows about the events that unfolded, however it’s interesting to see the video. I didn’t realize that he was 29 at the time, perhaps that is why I think he is hot. I think that 29 is pretty young to do something like he did. I have my own opinion on what he did but I don’t want to spark a debate, so we will leave it at that. I do find the movie to be interesting and it’s well worth your time. It’s playing on HBO, you should be able to watch it on-demand. I just happened to see it when I was scrolling through the AT&T app and looking through the guide. I wanted to see since my phone is on a different network since I don’t have AT&T WIFI I wanted to see if I said record if it would work and it does. Pretty cool to be able to schedule recordings from anywhere you have internet access and it’s all with a touch of a few buttons, very simple.
I am still in shock from the news I learned yesterday. I’ve always had a problem with death in particular when it happens to someone that is young or is close to my age. Now I realize that as I grow older it will eventually become more popular which is understandable. I am thinking about her family that she left behind and how they feel, knowing full well most of their feelings. The whole thing is just sad.
In other news it’s still cold out, the parking garage was full this morning and I had to park way out in left field again. Usually when that happens it means we will have a conga line to get out of the garage, but I sure hope that I am wrong. I am eager to get home to finish up Citizen Four and to also see if the replacement remote I ordered for my fan works, hopefully it does. I am not a big fan of returning items.
For the first time in my career I had a user report a problem to which I asked if she had rebooted, when she said no, I said when it’s convenient please reboot. To which she asked why? Why would you have me reboot when I am reporting a problem? I explained that it sounds like the application she was using was malfunctioning and rebooting often fixes that. She wasn’t too happy but I told her that if I didn’t hear back from her that I would be following up. I was really surprised that she questioned my proposed solution. We don’t just suggest reboot to buy us time to figure out the actual solution. Rebooting is often the solution. Most anyone who has been around computers for any length of time already knows that. I think that it should be a pre-requisite before you call for help, because that could easily save a call. Do I think that rule will be passed here, nope and I am not even suggesting it.
I hope your Monday is going well and that soon it will be over. We are in store for a warm up tomorrow and rain, which should wash all of the snow away. Then on Wednesday we go back to the deep freeze. It’s going to be temperature roulette which I am not fond of. I guess it’s better than more snow. I just checked and don’t see snow in the forecast but I suppose if we get enough rain we might have some ice when the temps drop. Take care, stay warm and be well. Talk with you peeps later.
