Nerves

Morning!  I can certainly tell that I am on call, lots of strange things are coming my way, which is kind of the norm when I am on-call.  Heard that there was an issue in my office yesterday and I almost dashed over but the more I thought about it, I really need more details.  I sat on my hands and stayed at home last night, it wasn’t easy.  However, I’m hoping that I made the right call and that it doesn’t require me to dash over.  I should find out more today.

Got a call from the boss yesterday just as I laid down to try to get 20 minutes of peace.  He asked me if I had anything for the new guy to do or that I could show him.  I said no but I’ll keep him in mind.  The boss was supposed to put together a training schedule that details who is showing him what and when.  That has not happened.  I have things I want to show him but I don’t want to overwhelm and would much rather have a schedule so we all know the structure.  Looks like this is a fly by the seat of your pants moment.

The mistake maker is out today, he’s putting his dog down.  I do feel bad for him.  He’s got to explain that to his kids and I know that is rough.  One is still very young and probably won’t need an explanation but the other one is 4 and he will for sure need to know what happened.  ICK I don’t envy him at all.  The dog is 13 and wearing diapers because of incontinence.  That’s no way for a dog to live.  Sounds like this has been a long time coming.  With another kid on the way and a limited amount of money, there are tough calls that have to be made.  Again I don’t envy him.

The rain fell yesterday and more is falling today.  Thus far the basement appears dry.  Hopefully it stays that way.  Last weeks rainfall was like a flood hit us, it was a serious gully washer.  My neighbors yard has a spot that floods and there still is standing water there.

Lunch and Supper yesterday were left over pizza.  Lunch was served cold and Supper was served slightly warmed.

Rudy has set a new wakeup time for me, it’s been a couple weeks that I’ve been getting up at 6:30a.  I usually wake up at 6a, toss or go back to sleep until 6:30a and then just get out of bed.  It makes for a longer day but I am able to get a jump on things at work, it’s paid off a couple times.

Here’s hoping that today is better than yesterday despite being short a team member.  There are a few meetings on tap for today one of which is being done via Teams.  I hate that program would much rather use Zoom.  Ah well.

Thanks for stopping by, take care and stay dry.
