The bitter cold

We sure do have some cold weather.  It’s bring out the layers and good gloves and hat kind of weather.  All eyes are on the weather as we wait in anticipation for snow that will be coming tomorrow and once it starts it won’t stop until Wednesday.  Predictions are from 4 to 10 inches at the moment.  I’m sure that might change.  The real story isn’t the snow but the temperatures they are going to get even colder and were headed for some negative numbers.  The good news if there is any is that the snow will be all snow and nothing else.  It should be easy to clear but I don’t know that I am going to bother with it.  Considering that is how I got my cyst to flare up.

I turned the furnace down a degree last night before bed but still managed to wake up from being hot under the covers.  I felt the cold this morning and after greeting the cats and climbing out of bed my first stop was the thermostat to turn up the heat by a degree.  It’s nice and toasty in here now and I plan to keep it that way all day.

Checked on the vehicle last night a few times and the battery is trickle charging now just to maintain it.  I plan on keeping it hooked up until I have to get out next which I believe will be Saturday at the moment.  I am looking for the office to close on Tuesday but they might be gun shy after last weeks non-event.  While the office may close we no longer have “snow days” like we did in years past.  Work still gets done but from home.  Kind of like kids they have “remote learning” days.  That’s one thing that COVID changed forever.  Now if you want a break you have to call in sick or go on vacation.  Still adult or child the work piles up and is waiting to greet you when you return.  I want to run away and never come back, but don’t want my pay to stop.

Just had a blow up at my fuck up of a co-worker.  He forgot to do something and before we both started getting emails I sent him a reminder to jog his memory.  I just told him in so many words that I am eager for the day that he actually starts to do his job correctly and on time.  I’ve had it with him.  I’ve got a zinger planned for our team meeting later in the week and I plan to call out yet another one of his fuck ups.  I am telling you that if something ever happens to me he will be exposed for the fuck up that he is.

On to something more pleasant last nights supper.  I opted to heat up some left over pizza.  The cats were all over me begging.  It was good and I’ve got a little bit left.  Not sure if I will have it for lunch or eat it for supper tonight.  The Burrito still waits for me along with some Country Fried Steak & Mashed Potatoes.  It might be cold outside but I will be eating hearty and staying warm inside.  Filled up the fridge with the last of the Diet Coke.  It’s stuffed to the gills and that should last me well into next week about the time I make my next Sam’s Club run.

I’ve managed to continue to resist the temptation of breaking out a syringe and trying to drain my cyst.  It’s still a bit painful but I am biding my time and hoping that the doctor will take care of it next week so that my pain will come to an end and life can get back to more normal.

Today started off a little busy but it fizzled out pretty quickly.  I think that things will be calm and quiet for a while and then flair back up.  I am just waiting and watching, which is all I can do.

Stay warm and be well.  Talk with you all again soon!
