Tornado to Snow

Morning!

I took yesterday as a semi tech free day.  I powered off my phone once I was home from my morning errands.  I watched TV, took a brief nap.  Then it was time for lunch for the cats.  I set out my pills for the week ahead and then watched Vacation (tv edition) on YouTube while laying on the couch.  I was free and able to just relax and not be concerned with much of anything.

I knew that we would have changing weather conditions and that it probably wasn’t a good idea to stay disconnected for the entire day but I would have liked to.

Powered my phone back on after I cleaned the house.  Nothing but junk was waiting for me.  We had an alert that was chirping every hour and I kind of got tired of that but it was just as easy as deleting the email each hour and then life kept moving on.

I surfed social media on my phone, learned a think or two and saw some hot guys and some porn clips.  Then went back to TV.

We were into early afternoon that’s when concerning weather was moving into our area.  It was still far enough out that it didn’t affect me just yet but in a few short hours it would.

As I was eating supper at 5p the Tornado siren went off and my phone had already gone off.  I had my scanner on and the TV tuned to the local weather.  Within a couple hours we went from Summer to Winter.  We had rain, high winds a Tornado and then it started snowing.  The temperature went from upper 60’s to 45 and it kept dropping over night.  The snow is only sticking on some grassy areas, the streets are just sloppy wet.  Thank goodness for that it would suck to have to shovel again or in my case pay some one to shovel.

It appears that my neighborhood is unscathed and more importantly my home is fine as well.  That is as best as I can tell from my indoor view.  I don’t see any debris from the house and all the trees are still standing.

I had made the decision when I got home after my morning errands to stay home instead of venturing back out for an afternoon/evening meal. I bought a Frozen Pizza but had Lasagna instead.  Today is a perfect day for making a pizza, the house is warn but hot piping hot and I so look forward to it later this evening.  Only hope that I can pry myself away from work.

Rudy was still playing and destroying the game chair I brought up.  I integrated it with the kitchen table and now it’s my default chair to sit on.  It’s a bit out of place but it has prevented him from digging his claws into it any further.  It’s more comfortable to sit at the kitchen table now than on a solid wood chair.

Found a new streaming service that is paid for by my tax money.  Yeah, you just need a library card in the US and it’s totally free. No commercials or ads either.  It’s called Kanopy.  They have a lot of different titles and even an LGBTQ section.  I found a random movie that I thought was gay but turns out it was just a drama.  Still it kept my interest and I had never heard of it before.  For me this isn’t a streaming service killer but it’s nice to have something else to browse through when I can’t seem to find anything to watch.

I also got the dreaded email about Amazon raising prices on Add Free by a $1 and they are now giving the option of paying for it for an entire year and you can save a little bit of money.  I’m already paying for Prime then tack this on and the cost goes up.  There are also somethings on Prime you simply can’t watch without commercials/ads but they let you know that up front.  I think that if your a Prime member this service should be like it was originally, ad free as it’s a benefit of your subscription to Prime.  I don’t watch a whole lot on Prime but when I do I don’t want to be interrupted by a commercial, if I did I’d watch on my Hulu Free Plan.

Well the boss is back and while my day is done according to my calendar I know that I will be busy covering for his lack of attention to being on call during the day.  I guess I should get to it as things are starting to heat up.

Hope you had a wonderful weekend.  Just 4 more days and we can do it all over again.  Yippie.  Take care and stay safe!
