Rubber Band Rudy

Morning …

I’ve had a cable that came with a Mophie juice pack I got for my last phone.  It’s been sitting comfortably on the kitchen table and had a custom rubber band on it they included.  Yesterday afternoon I found the cable on the floor by the couch, which is a considerable distance from the kitchen table.  Apparently Rudy got up on the table and fetched it.  I placed it on the coffee table and thought nothing of it.  This morning I came out of my room and when I went to turn off the outside lights I found it at my foot steps.  I looked for the rubber band and it was a short distance away, chewed up with a small part of it missing. 

The kitten in Rudy is starting to come out more and more.  Cats love rubber bands and I learned that lesson a long time ago.  That can easily turn into an emergency vet visit.  Looks like I have to be better at cat proofing the house and what I leave out.  Rudy has been banned from the counter top thanks to some aluminum foil.  It’s been in place all summer long and looks like he’s getting even with me now by starting to jump up on the kitchen table.  He’s got some guts I will give him that.  I’m not going to leave aluminum foil on my kitchen table, at least I have no plans at the moment.  I might break some out if this problem gets worse. 

Last night both cats acted like they wanted to play but when I put a toy in front of them they looked at me like I was crazy. 

Got a call from the bossman a moment ago and turns out were not meeting at all today, he’s stuck in some day long boring meeting.  Thank God for small favors.  Shame there can’t be more of these types of events to tie up his time.  He’s also off next Monday & Tuesday so more good news for me. The bad news is that he moved our meeting today to tomorrow.  He loves meetings like a fat man loves cake.   

I’ve got one email to send in about an hour and then all of my tasks and work at the moment for the day will be done.  That’s not to say something else won’t come rolling in but I am hoping for some quiet time. 

My knots in my back are acting up and I am debating if I want to keep or cancel my massage for next week.  I also had a dream last night that I wrecked my vehicle and had to buy a new one.  I was getting something in the Electric Blue color I love but it needed some prep work from the dealer.  I was happy to wake up and discover that was a dream.  Guess that new car fever is getting stronger. 

Today’s my brothers birthday and hopefully his expensive card has made it’s way to his mailbox.  I’d love to see his face when he opens it.  I honestly don’t expect any reaction but it would be nice if he acknowledged the card. 

I was pretty bored last night and thought that the evening would never end.  However, it did.  There wasn’t a whole lot on to watch and I continued my saga of re-watching The Big Bang Theory.  What a great show.  Lots of laughs and memories with that.  I remember to talking about it with co-workers.  I did clean up my DVR and got rid of a bunch of stuff that I knew I’d never watch.

We have another freeze incoming over the weekend, things are going to get super chilly here.  It’s going to turn into soup or chili weather.  Sadly anything I open that comes from a can Rudy automatically thinks it’s cat food and it takes me forever to convince him otherwise.  Damn me and my good habits of feeding wet food to my cats.  Mora doesn’t think anything of it and she doesn’t bother me like he does.
