Cat Burglars

Morning …

The cats are still adjusting to the time change.  Yesterday was very strange they were both off when it came to food time and treats.  Perhaps that is why they let me be in my bedroom alone for an hour as they stayed behind in the living room when I told them I was going to bed.  Darkness falls here around 5p and that seems to make the evening linger.  I liked it much better when darkness was at 8p but that is something to look forward to next year. 

I woke up this morning at 6a and felt Rudy on top of me.  Never knew he was there he’s so stealthy in not waking me.  I was up in the middle of the night and found both of them curled up in my bed next to each other. 

I wound up getting up a half hour early which isn’t the worst thing in the world.  I was surprised when I saw the living room.  One or both of them decided to take the packing material from an Amazon box and spread it out across the living room.  It’s just brown craft type paper and they love the sound of it.  It looked cute and I haven’t bothered to pick up after them yet.  Bunch of cat burglars, you never know what they will get into next.  Keeps it interesting!

They got breakfast but acted like they were feuding and they wouldn’t get close to each other which is odd.  Everything seemed okay as I decided to head down to start the day. 

Got a jump on things and glad I did because a short time ago my internet got up and left.  It’s back now but I had to turn on the hot spot on my phone.  I’d love to go back to the days of stable internet where it didn’t go down at all ever.  Not sure if we will ever get there again but it sure was nice. 

I got the proposed on-call calendar for 2026 done and sent out yesterday.  As it stands now me and the mistake maker both have 3 holidays to work.  The other guy only has 2.  He’s been there longer and I kind of felt that it was appropriate.  The way it worked out the senior guy actually had Thanksgiving & Christmas but I knew he’d bitch so I took Christmas off of his hands.  Normally I ask what holidays you don’t want to work around it but getting a response to that question is like pulling teeth so this year I just put the schedule together and am giving everyone the opportunity to complain, if there are no complaints then what I proposed will become the schedule and get published. 

I’ve still got to get working on my calendar of events for next year so that subscriptions and other items don’t catch me off guard.  I hate doing it and put it off for as long as possible and then wind up scrambling to get it together.  I used to look forward to the task but now it’s a task and well not so much fun, if that makes sense. 

The timer I ordered was placed in the mail yesterday.  It’s suppose to surface by the weekend or early next week.  I’m not exactly jumping for joy to try to hook it up but I will be careful when I open the box so that if things don’t work out for some reason I can return it.  I like the fact that Amazon is giving return by dates now in January thinking that every thing you buy might be a holiday gift. 

Had a Pumpkin Donut last night for a snack and thought I was going to eat the whole box.  They were surprisingly good.  Had a little bit of store made Lasagna and plan to finish it off tonight.
