Stuck

Morning!

I am waiting on a 3rd party provider at work to resolve an issue with their system.  I can’t really do a whole lot in the way of my morning tasks or even my normal job until this is fixed.  It’s kind of frustrating to just sit and stare at a screen, trying to login periodically to see if I can.  Meanwhile work builds as I wait.  Hopefully, it won’t be terribly long.  Thankfully were not the only customer that is impacted by this so the pressure is on them to fix this soon. 

We had a fire drill at the office yesterday and I anticipated some issues but thankfully everything went well and there were no issues.  By afternoon I was able to exhale and knew that it was all down hill from here. 

The boss is back today and I am not looking forward to our morning meeting, where he tells everyone how good it is to hear their voices.  As if that is supposed to warm our hearts.  Go back on vacation, we can make it without you and your silly bullshit is what I’d love to say but won’t. 

Finished off the pizza last night for supper.  Rudy begged and begged me each time I was eating it for some.  I suspect it was the aroma of all of the meat smell that appealed to him.  I’d love to give in but I know what happens if I do and I’m not giving in so this can be turned into a habit. 

He slept on me last night multiple times through the night.  I had a bad dream and I guess he realized it so he came to comfort me.  One thing I can take to the bank with high confidence is that both of these cats love me to death.  I can chalk this up to luck that we found each other.  I don’t have good luck but every once and a while I get a win.  I suspect that is true for everyone but some people are luckier than others. 

Today in data breaches I heard that Discord was hacked and not only did they take user data but the threat actors got access to and took copies of every government issued ID that Discord was required to maintain to prove age verification.  Glad I’m not a Discord user. 

I get the whole age verification issue but I think that it’s going a little too far.  If your going to require Government issued ID to prove age, then you should have an obligation to store it separate from other data and in a secure fashion.  Also, for every rule or requirement realize that it’s only a matter of time before someone somewhere figures out a workaround to bypass the requirement.
