Ah it’s like kind of like vacation

Morning, so glad the boss is away.  It’s like I am on vacation sort of.  I opted to stay home today, made that call early last night.  My shoulder and my knee were both bothering me.  Wish I could get some OEM new parts for this aging body.  Anyway, I used some ice on the shoulder and then followed up with some Ben Gay.  It didn’t do much but open my sinuses.  The cats were going a bit crazy at the smell.  Mora was trying to climb the walls in the bathtub.  Not exactly sure what that was all about.  Took some OTC pain meds and called it a night. 

Woke up a couple times during the night.  Sweating to death it was hot in here.  Kicked the covers off the first time, the second time I turned on the ceiling fan.  Woke up freezing to death.  Kind of difficult to be comfortable indoors when the temperature outside is all over the place.  It will all level out soon enough. 

Shoulder feels better but is still sore.  My knee bothers me from time to time.  I mostly feel it when I shower and when I use steps.  It will settle down in a few weeks.  I wore a knee brace yesterday.  Weight I believe is the contributing factor to the knee issues combined with the fact that I am getting older day by day, like we all are. 

My work for the day is done.  There is a weekly meeting this afternoon.  My boss tried to get me to run it but I got him to pass it off to my co-worker who loves to make mistakes.  We alternate in coverage when the boss is unable to attend and it’s clearly his turn.  I will be late to join this call on purpose to help force his hand.  He’s becoming more and more difficult to work with, unless of course he needs or wants something from me.

Watched a good movie on Prime last night called Ricky Stanicky.  It’s got Zac Effron in it and there are a few other noticeable faces but no one I’m attracted to.  This was a damn good movie and it was included with my Prime membership.  I hope Amazon makes more enjoyable content like this.  This was the first movie I’ve watched on Prime since they introduced advertising of which I pay to opt out of. 

Watched The Neighborhood latest episode last night, I’ve always loved this show since the day it aired.  There is always something funny that happens.  Cedric the Entertainer always gives a good show. 

Had some left over pizza for supper last night.  Peaches as my evening snack and I wanted more but stopped there.  Planning on eating at least 1/2 of that Ruben for lunch today.  Also got some yogurt to help switch things up a bit.  Had cheese & caramel popcorn for lunch, it was good and I could have easily eaten the whole bag, had to stop myself. 

Yesterday I started to hear the familiar sound of a lawn mower, someone was cutting their grass.  Mine looks like it’s ready but not exactly sure when the 1st cut of the season will be.  It’s usually late April or early March.  If it looks too ratty I will make a call but otherwise I just let the lawn people show up when they want.  I don’t look forward to getting back to paying them but that sting goes away once the temperature starts to climb.  If I could get away with it I’d just as soon put down astro turf or better yet spray pain the lawn grass green and call it a day.  Ah summer it’s a love hate thing for me.  Hate the hot weather, love to see the guys with no shirts on.
