I had no idea but today was the day The Storm hit. It’s busy season now for a bit. Then add in a Phishing Campaign that is ill timed and it’s a great big mess. No one wants to deal with the Phishing stuff so I jumped before lunch to take care of as many reports as I could. I finally walked away. My phone was alerting so much that at lunch I turned on DO NOT DISTURB. Wow things got really quiet very fast. I like it. The fear of course is that I will miss something urgent but I kept tabs on things.
I’ve done more today than I have in a long time. It’s all repetitive so it’s just a matter of finding a groove and then moving forward. Jumping between tasks and systems to get done. This will linger on for a few days for me. My counterpart (dumb ass co-worker) will stew over it and put it off as long as possible, then at the last minute scramble and wonder why he had so many mistakes. In years past I’ve helped out and done some of the pre-work for this project. This year he’s on his own, no senses in coddling him. I need people to see that he is making mistakes and it’s not just me complaining or being picky. When enough surface that will do the trick. It’s all in my master plan. I am not setting him up for failure I am just allowing him to take the rope, if he wants to hang himself that is his choice not mine.
In other news I figured out that I have Mackerel Tabby Cats. It was by pure accident I saw something on social media and wondered why a type of cat would be named after a fish. It’s due to the striping pattern on their coat. If you look closely between there eyes on the head you will see an M pattern. That’s what makes the cat a Mackerel. Interesting find. At the end of the day they are still Domesticated Cats and the cats that I’ve fallen in love with. I say the word love with very mixed feelings but I know for certain I care for them. They care for me now if they could just get along all of the time that would be great.
Well it’s about time to head back and finish up for the day. Then I get to head up and wrangle & take out the trash. The barrel is very full this week so I kind of feel like I will be getting my monies worth. Looking forward to what I hope is a relaxing evening. Tomorrow will suck because it will be back to hair on fire mode but no one right now is pushing me. There is a deadline for all of this storm work that came in but I don’t focus on when it’s due, I focus on getting it done long before that. Don’t put off what you can accomplish today until tomorrow because you have no idea what tomorrow has in store for you. I learned that lesson many times over.
Have a nice evening. Talk with you all again soon. Be well.
