Calm Before The Storm

Happy Friday Eve!  It’s quiet thus far.  I know that won’t last terribly long but I am trying to enjoy it while I can.  I’ve plowed through all of my morning tasks and routines.  Now I am idle waiting for something to go wrong.

Yesterday my boss asked me about the vendor I was supposed to contact.  I asked him for certain if we have the money to move forward and he indicated yes.  I reached out to the vendor and we have a meeting late in the afternoon tomorrow.  My boss is going to try to haggle to see if he can get a “discount” but I don’t expect the vendor to budge.  This is the dreaded project where I would need to be in the office 3 full days in a row and it would start early and likely end late.  I dread and do not look forward to this cluster fuck because that is exactly what it will be.  Once it’s done sure it will be nice but there is a lot of work to make that happen.  I don’t want this to be scheduled until at least June if not July because May is pretty well spoken for and it’s going to be nuts, as per usual.

Browsing social media last night I saw that Apple issued it’s first ever emergency patch for IOS.  They didn’t say what it was for but said that every IOS user needs to install it right away.  I jumped on board.  As it was downloading and preparing to install I had the though what if this bricks my device.  However, that didn’t happen.  All appears to be working fine.  I normally don’t hesitate to install updates but the way in which this was done made me a little apprehensive.  I also don’t like the not knowing what exactly this is fixing.  Details help but I get that sometimes it’s not practical or prudent to provide them.

My BBQ Dinner and Ice Cream was pretty good last night.  I limited myself on the ice cream and wanted more.  Caught up on all of my recorded TV Shows.  I see The Goldberg's aired its final show.  That’s kind of sad.  I’ve been with them since the start.  I only saw a preview of the final show and plan to watch the final episode soon.

I did more brushing last night and got a decent amount of fur of of Morea and a tiny bit off of Rudy.  They both love the brush but also want to chew on it.  They try to chew on the nail clippers and my water bottle as well.  They chew on me too.  If I didn’t know better I’d think they were teething.

Speaking of teeth.  I paid what I consider to be a large sum of money for a tube of Colgate Pro Series toothpaste.  I think it was $10 and it’s a small tube.  It said it would remove 15 years of stains.  Damn if that stuff doesn’t work.  My teeth are starting to sparkle.  It’s the high concentration of hydrogen peroxide that works it’s magic.  If you want them to stay that white you have to keep using the product, stop and they will stain back up.  I can’t see me changing to this as a forever thing but now and then yeah it’s kind of nice to see white teeth.

When I finally made it to my room and was waiting for my sleeping medicine to kick in I managed to nod off.  I hate when that happens.  I woke up and jumped into bed.  It wasn’t much longer and it was lights out.

This morning Rudy came in and stuck by me until it was time to get up for good.  I was up for a couple bathroom trips and he mistook those as were getting up and I get food trips.  Not so.  I wish I could make him understand so he didn’t get so excited.  Morea I think understands and that is why she just stays put until she knows for sure that I am really getting up.

It’s started off to be a chilly morning but we will be in the 70’s by this afternoon.  I plan to open the back door again for the cats to stare out and get some fresh air.  They love it and it’s like a moth to a flame.  You might not see both of them but crack that door open and they come running.  I do think if the screen wasn’t in place they would both take off.  Morea got into the garage over the weekend and I was less than pleased with her.  I was told they aren’t door dashers but you give them the opportunity they will for sure dash.  They don’t hang around the door when I leave.  They do try to worm their way in when I go down to the basement.

Here’s hoping that it’s a great day and there are many good things to happen.  I am excited for the weekend to see my house sign and to get it put back up.  I will find out soon enough if I made a horrible mistake or if I made the right call.  People are always searching for house numbers and I figured make it stand out on purpose.

I am headed back to the salt mines otherwise known as work.  Take care and we will talk again soon.  Be well.
