Hacked

This afternoon before opening my lunch box I looked at my phone notifications.  I was surprised to see that there were 2 declined charges to my Capital One credit card.  The first was for Netflix which I have but it bills to a different card and the other was for People Finders.  It was clearly apparent that my credit card was compromised.  I called and got the number changed, the old card is shutdown.  The charges were declined because I kept the account locked.  If I am going to buy something I unlock it, make the purchase and then lock it again.  It’s a handy feature and in this case it is the only thing that saved me. 

In today’s society you have to have instant notifications for all of your banking/credit accounts.  If a bank doesn’t offer that they are behind the times.  That’s why I switched banks last year.  My then bank offered it but it wasn’t real time it was after the fact and well the damage is done then so it does me no good.  The sooner you can catch the fraud the better off you are and if it hits your debit card look out because you have to wait to get reimbursed. 

Today has not been a good day at all.  High stress and pressure.  I knew it was going to be a bad day when Gator puked in my bed multiple times and woke me up at 1:30a.  Then I couldn’t go back to sleep so I had to stay up for an hour.  Then off to sleep and when I woke up I felt so tired.  She is okay but acting a little funny.  I am going to brush her tonight hopefully.  The next sign came when the lawn guy was here as I was getting dressed.  I thought who mows their grass at 7a?  Well I guess in this case it was me.  That is far too early to start on a weekday.  Sure a lot of people are up but some people get to sleep in and I don’t like to be woke up anymore than the next guy.  I think 8:30 or more like 9a is more acceptable but hey I’m not doing the work, I just pay the bill.  The third sign came when I got to work and my normal parking spot was taken.  I got a much better space but I am opposed to change. 

Headed upstairs in a bit to prepare for what I hope is a better Tuesday and then take a load off with the cats and watch Last Week Tonight.  Here’s hoping your Monday rocked!  Talk with you again soon.
