Yesterday I updated my FB page to commemorate the passing of my partner, I listed it as a life event. Then I made public my marital status and the fact I was interested in guys. I thought about it for a while and thought you know this could cost you friends, once you let the information out you can’t take it back. Then I also thought about potential future jobs. I quickly changed it back. Thankfully FB didn’t make a major announcement about it, so chances are no one knows it happened.
Tonight for whatever reason I changed it back to public. I am gay – I am widowed and well if you don’t like it, too bad. I am not happy about the widowed part. Who knows maybe in the future I will be able to say I am in a relationship. People are coming out all the time and it really doesn’t seem to have a negative impact.
I am not marching with a pride flag or wearing a sign, tattoo or anything else that says I am gay. If you know it’s because I wanted you to, if you don’t it’s because I don’t want you to know. If you figure it out, well good for you. Take that information and a quarter proceed to Denny’s and maybe they will give you a cup of coffee.
So I came out again. I’m interested what if any reaction that will get.
Last night I made my guys toothbrush mine officially. It works better and takes up less space so it was kind of a no brainer. Plus it will be another thing to remind me of him. I am sure I will think of him more often now. :)
Today was a busy day, since it was a day after a holiday. I was in demand. Plus my friend started. Wow that is a mess. She showed up late, asked for an office immediately in front of me and then left early for a doctors appointment. Seriously! I’m guessing she wants them to fire her so she can sit at home and collect unemployment. It was only the first day so we shall see what happens. I just pray it all works out. She bothered me several times so I was kind of happy when she left. I hope she will be quiet tomorrow.
The trash is out and it took 15 minutes just like I thought. The nosy neighbors came out to see what I was up to. I just kept it moving and never lost a beat. I didn’t stop to chat, say hi or what the fuck you people are nosy. I just kept quiet and did what I had to. Now that it’s sitting out there it is a little more than normal but all things considered it’s not a ‘large’ load. I just hope they take every last bit of it, which I believe they will.
I looked into my vision coverage. It’s “paperless” so I have no proof that I actually enrolled. I was asked for a copy of the application, which is a little hard to produce since it was all done via computer. The benefits person I worked with on the day of enrollment did all of the typing and I didn’t even get so much as a screen capture. I think they will just enroll me, but who knows. If I don’t have coverage it’s not the worst thing in the world. I was just planning on going back to the eye doctor sooner and getting a pair of Cadillac glasses. By Cadillac I mean a pair that has everything done to it from scratch coating, anti-glare, auto tint lens, the works. That way since they would do everything I wouldn’t have an excuse for taking them off except to shower and go to bed. I need to wear them more full time but switching to sun glasses makes that difficult. I don’t need them to drive but I suppose that day is coming sooner rather than later. Insurance would help defray the cost that would otherwise be born by me. If I have to pay and have no coverage I will be a lot more conservative in what I get.
Well time to prepare for yet another day of work. Going to do that and then get ready to watch Suits. I hope it’s a good show and there is some Mike Ross skin action – but my luck being what it is that probably won’t happen.
Take care and I will talk with you peeps later.

Yes I saw (and replied to) your FB posts, it's so much more common these days but I see your point about future jobs etc. Even that isn't as bad as it used to be I don't think, however it just takes that one homophobic hiring person. I wish it was different!
It will be interesting to see how this friend of yours works out on the job. Keep us posted!
