Hey there … Hope your weekend has been wonderful. Mine has been just okay. Saturday morning I woke up and opted to just stay home because it was too damn cold to get out. Had breakfast here and hung out with the cats. They seemed to like it. Finished up The Night Agent on Netflix. Just got my price increase notice this afternoon, $2 and some change. Not horrible but not great either. Got moving towards the afternoon. Made it to the Mexican place that I wanted to visit. Service was horrible just like it was when they had a place that was closer to home. However, the chips and salsa tasted exactly the same and they were spot on. I was pleased. I couldn’t find what I wanted on the menu but ordered it and it was no problem. The beans were cold but everything else was great. Didn’t get charged for my soda or the extra food item I ordered, so it was a great deal for me. My stomach was starting to give me fits as I waited for the check. I knew that I would need to visit a restroom but I am not a fan of public restrooms and unless it’s a dire emergency I will pass. Turns out that was a mistake on my part. I had a 40 mile ride home and only made it part of the way before “the accident” occurred. I was mad at myself but kept on the path to home.
I almost had an automobile accident to boot. I was in the fast lane and the dummy in front of me brake checked me twice. There was plenty of room between us. I went to go around them and damn if they didn’t change lanes with me. They went over three lanes and I had to swerve to miss them. It was a near miss. I was pissed at them but quickly recovered and got back in the fast lane and pressed on the gas. I was really going fast to get home.
As I got closer to home I started game planning in my head for what needed to happen. Of course I predicted that Mora would be waiting for me at the door and I was right. She didn’t want to move but I was loud and moving fast so she knew I meant business. Got in the bathroom and took my second shower of the day. Cleaning up that mess was not fun but at least I had the forethought to close the door when I went into the bathroom otherwise I would have had cat company and that wouldn’t have been good.
I got dressed and fed the cats. Then went back out to grab the mail and their cat food. The cat food store shelves were bare again, it feels like were back in the pandemic. It didn’t help that there was a worker in the small isle crowding me. Then came back home. I had started working on laundry before I left for the restaurant and didn’t realize that I would have extra loads to do. Plus it was the night I normally do dishes so the water company is going to love me along with the power company.
As if I didn’t have enough fun already I opted to work on taxes. That was a mess. I made a mistake with how I prepared the state returns and had to scrap ‘em and start all over again. Poor sweet Rudy opted to bug me and he felt my temper. I was upset about that as well but we made up and I told him I was sorry. I think I more confused him than hurt his feelings. Turns out that I can’t file my taxes just yet I am waiting on some forms from the states to become available. Likely next weekend I can get them filed. The good news is that I am getting refunds and don’t have to pay anyone, which is normally not the case.
Needless to say with all of that extra drama I had no problems getting to sleep. Woke up a little early this morning with Rudy on top of me. I stopped off at the bathroom and damn if the alarm clock didn’t go off. That confused and interested the cats. Not a sound they have heard that often. I took care of that and then made my way to the kitchen where I passed out their breakfast.
Got dressed and head out for my breakfast. Went to a place that I hadn’t been to in a while. Not a lot had changed but I was craving a specific menu item and got that. Then it was off to Target where I never dreamed I could spend $100 but it happened today. Then on to the grocery store, gas station and finally back home. Put everything away, watched TV and went back to bed for a bit.
Got up and passed out lunch. Rudy let me know he was hungry. Got them taken care of and then worked in getting my meds out for the week. Then it was on to cleaning and trash duty. Now I just threw in the last load of laundry. The cats finally settled down and are in my office with me. Mora is on a chair that she normally occupies. Rudy is asleep on the floor. Not sure how long that will last but I sure do enjoy the quiet and looking at how angelic they both look. So sweet and innocent that is until their eyes open and they decided to start nagging me again.
I originally wasn’t going out for supper when I was at the grocery store I decided it was just too damn cold. However, it’s warmed up a bit since then and were just slightly above freezing. I put some air in my tires and am thinking I will make a go to Red Lobster. Soup and Fish sound pretty good. Had a Pina Colada yogurt for lunch. I normally get the real drink at Red Lobster but they changed ice machines a while back and they are still good but not as good as they used to be. Here’s hoping that turns out to be a good experience.
I am off to surf the web. So not looking forward to next week but I know I will make it though somehow, someway. It won’t be over as quick as I want it to be but at least there is an end in sight, it’s a million miles away now but each day will bring it closer.
