Walking in Winter

Morning, hope all is warm and well in your neck of the woods.  It’s cold here, we had snow, rain and sleet last night.  This morning it’s all nothing but a wet rainy mess.  Accidents are up and thus longer commutes.  However, my commute wasn’t impacted as I went from the bed to the kitchen to the basement.  Yep, I was smart and stayed home.  That’s the plan for this week.  Later this afternoon about the time I would normally leave is when were due for snow and that will make for a sloppy commute home.

My counterpart who is several hours away from me is drenched in snow, everything there is closed and he took the day off because he can’t get his kid to school.  He’s got a wife and relatives but it’s easier to be a chicken and just call in.  Funny thing is there was an urgent issue that surfaces after hours that is something only him or I could take care of.  He stops watching his phone at 4p unless he’s on call so if I hadn’t checked my mail the urgent matter would have been waiting for me this morning.  I could go on and on, he just gets my blood pressure up.  Just want to kick him in the nuts and get it out of my system but I don’t think I will ever get that opportunity, which is probably for the best.  Especially considering he wants to have another kid.  Having a kid is a great way to get a free vacation from work for I think it’s 8 weeks, all I know is it’s a long damn time.

I had my left over fish and broccoli last night with my two almost warm left over biscuits. It was good and did a great job of filling me up.  Doesn’t take much these days as my stomach I am positive has shrunk.

My cancellation letter to the exterminator should have been delivered yesterday but appears to be stuck in the postal system, at least that is the way it looks when I go to track it.  My hope is that it’s gets delivered today and/or the website gets updated today.  It’s time sensitive and I don’t want them to come knocking next month, I am done.  I will stay on top of this to make sure that doesn’t happen.

I’ve been toying with watching Dan Levy’s new movie Good Greif.  However, I know that it’s a tear jerker and deals with death so I get in the mood to watch and then quickly talk myself out of it by watching the preview.  I think it will conger up a lot of memories for me but it may also do some good.  I want to see it but just don’t want to cry or experience any of the emotions I have already been through.

Fun fact the movie that made me cry the most was The Green Mile back in the day when it came out.  I watched it back when we had our TV room in the basement and then cried my ways up the stairs it took me several minutes to recover.  It was a good movie though.  I just don’t like tear jerkers.  It’s okay to tug at my emotions but don’t make me cry.  I’d rather laugh.

I turned the heat down my one degree last night and that made all the difference in the world.  The cats sandwiched between me when I climbed in bed.  It made it difficult for a few minutes but eventually I rolled over and that caused a shift.  Rudy jumped on top of me and made sure I didn’t go anywhere.  It felt so good and I got to sleep and stayed there for a while.  I had a bad dream and got up to use the restroom in the middle of the night.  Then back to bed and this morning Rudy climbed up my leg and sat on top of me until I came around.  I felt Mora jump in bed, she made it appears as if she was with me all night long but I know that wasn’t the case.  It’s okay so long as everyone is comfy that is the end goal.

I am really getting into the King of Queens it’s a decent show.  It’s no Roseanne but it’s not bad.  Peacock has had me for a full month and my subscription just renewed.  NBC is still blacked out here over a contract dispute with my TV provider, which sucks.  However, having Peacock I won’t miss anything might experience a delay before I can watch a show but I won’t miss it.  Plus I opted out of commercials so it’s even better.

Had some prepackaged Pineapple last night.  It was pretty good.  Just little fruit cups with “no sugar added”.  I popped them in the fridge.  They are great to take for lunch.  I like Peaches and Pineapple just not together.  I’ve already got the Peaches in a large jar and just picked up the Pineapple to add some variety.  I used to buy fresh cut fruit the store prepared but a Strawberry took me out and I had stomach issues from that.  Now it’s all pre-packed food none of that “fresh” stuff for me.  It all looks good but I really don’t want to take the risk.

Not sure what is on the menu for tonight but the freezer is stocked with several options.  Plus I have a few cans of soup so I have options, kind of depends on what I am in the mood for.

Thanks for your visit.  Talk with you all again soon!
