Pleased

I got an email notification the gift I ordered for my friends was waiting for pickup.  I dashed off to the post office at lunch time and got it.  It’s exactly what I had wanted and envisioned.  I only hope that they like it as much as I do.  I could have dropped it off at lunch time but there would have been no way for me to be back home in time.  Besides that they would have a full crew working and it might cause some hurt feelings, so that’s why Saturday is better.  Unless I feel horrible my plan is to venture out there early and see what happens. 

I ordered some light bulbs on Amazon and they came in as well but the postman left them on my door step so I saw them when I came home.  Two packages in one day, pretty good. 

I had my Ham Salad for lunch.  It was okay but I do not like the mayo the grocery store uses.  It messes up their Chicken Salad and the same is true for the Ham Salad.  I can eat it but I don’t enjoy it as much as I did back in the day when I got the same thing from a grocer that is out of business now.  We’ve got a new grocer moving in should be here later this year and I am eager to visit them to see how their stock and prices compare to the expensive place I shop now.  I am hopeful that I can switch stores one last time. 

When I got home from the post office I felt horrible.  It’s cold outside and I was coughing not sure where that came from.  I managed to nod off for a little bit but then the phone woke me up and back to work I went. 

It’s been calm for a Monday.  I had to process my colleagues promotion.  He’s salaried now just like me so all of the extra pay he was getting for being on-call and the overtime he was able to bill is all gone.  Now he will feel how much he got the shaft.  However, I don’t know how much of a pay bump he got but there is no way it works out compared to what he could have made if he stayed hourly.  At least he will have a dependable paycheck it’s the same except usually for 1 cent that fluctuates from check to check, which is odd but whatever.  I still don’t think he deserves the promotion because he hasn’t mastered all of the functions of his job but that’s my opinion.  Unless there are additional promotions to come (which I doubt) I am kind of disappointed that he is the only one who has a new title.  Our boss led us all to believe that come March everyone would have a different title.  If I ask about it I know he will just give me some BS about his boss didn’t approve his plan.  At least I still have a job, which I suppose is a good thing.

I’m thinking of having Beef Barley soup tonight for supper.  It’s a good eat and I’ve got fresh crackers.  It should fill me up and keep me nice and warm for a while.  It feels more like Winter today and we had some minor snow flurries.  I am for sure looking forward to warmer days.  Not hot not cold just right but those are few & far between here.  It’s usually one extreme or the other.

I’ve finished up adjusting all of the clocks.  I still have to adjust my two watches but I don’t wear them that often so who knows when I will get to that, I am in no hurry.  Looking forward to what I hope is a good night of rest and some decent TV.  I hope that it’s a calm night and a calm week.  No clusters or whammies this week. 

That’s all I have at the moment, not exactly earth shattering.  Just felt the need to post again.  I hope my gifts bring some joy and unexpected happiness.  Waiting until Saturday will kill me but I will have to manage.  I am the worst when it comes to giving gifts.  I mean I give decent gifts but I don’t like waiting to give them.  It’s like hide and go seek.  I used to laugh like crazy when it was my turn to hide.  No secret as to where I was, just follow the giggling.  I could do a better job today at that game but it’s not a game that adults typically play when there aren’t children around. 

Hopefully, I will continue to feel better and the soup will help mend things.  I want to get back to regular food but I really don’t have anything but frozen stuff here that is worth eating.  If I felt better I could talk myself into venturing out for a meal as a treat.  Considering I didn’t eat out at all on Saturday.  This was for sure a low cost weekend and I don’t usually have those.
