Amazon & refunds

Howdy just a bit of a rant here. 

I placed an order for a replacement UPS Battery.  FEDEX shows that a shipping label was created but there has been no further progress with the shipment.  Needless to say I didn’t get what I ordered.  I also have my doubts if it actually shipped. 

In any case I waited out the time frame and I was told that on Sunday I could request a refund.  To be fair they said request not get.  I requested my refund.  I heard back from the seller on Monday and they said they would file a claim with FEDEX to get a tracer placed on the item and to get it returned to them so I could get a refund. 

Last night I called Amazon and a customer service agent told me that he messaged the sender kind of prodding them along to issue the refund.  I got a response a few moments ago that FEDEX is tracing the shipment and it can take up to 15 days.  They expect me to wait 15 days to get my money back. 

I called Amazon and now I’m told that is correct I have to allow the process to complete and to see the results of the investigation before they will just give me my money back. 

That’s fucking crazy.  It’s clear by the tracking # that I don’t have the package.  FEDEX never shows receipt of the package and I’ve got a suspicion that someone just printed a label and they planned to take my money hoping that I wouldn’t say anything.  It’s a decent sum not quite $100 but it’s pretty close.  If you think I am going to roll over and let you take that away from me then your fucking nuts. 

I filed a dispute on my credit card.  They are giving me a temporary credit but this process can take up to 35 days to flush out and its possible that the bank will claw their money back from me, but for now I’ve got my money back.  I know that I will have to provide additional information and Amazon won’t be pleased but in the end I’m either getting my money back or the shipment is going to magically show up.  I’m glad that I have yet to buy a replacement. 

Lesson learned don’t order replacement UPS batteries via Amazon because if the package never shows up you will have to jump on a merry go round to get your money back. 

I like Amazon for the convenience but if something goes wrong with the process your fucked and they have horrible customer service.  One person tells you something but the second person will tell you a different story. 

Look I get the there are people who commit fraud and claim they never got something when it showed up.  It’s pretty straight forward here the proof is on FEDEX’s website and I shouldn’t be made to suffer because this never surfaced.  I mean they aren’t giving me a refund with interest, if they were then I might be a little more patient. 

What a mess.  I am sure it will sort its self out but I am not a patient person especially when it comes to my money.
