Silence is golden

At the moment there is nothing going on, no meetings, no reports, no one crying out for help and it’s the most quiet it’s been in a very long time.  I don’t know if it will last but it sure is enjoyable.  Even better knowing the boss is away even if today is the last day for that.

I asked Gator to not wake me up so much during the night and last night she didn’t wake me at all, she capitalized on when my body woke me up and asked for food.  I heard nothing from her the rest of the night.  I woke up this morning once again not believing that it was time to get out of bed and not wanting to.  I made my way to the bathroom and waved at Gator as she sat on the couch with her head pointed in my direction with her ears up as if to say Hi, please feed me.  After I took care of my bladder I worked on getting Gator breakfast.  By then she was on the floor and just waiting on me.  A bit hungry this morning which is always a good thing to see.

I had my Chocolate Oatmeal, Bananna, Glass of 2% milk and a Pumpkin Fritter. You have some good stuff and some not so good stuff that tasted really good!

Went through my usual motions/routine of breakfast, then medicine, then getting dressed and sitting next to Gator on the couch holding her plate while she eats more of her breakfast.  It’s a routine that she really likes then again if it involves food or attention, in this case a bit of each then she is just over the moon!

When that was done she got to go to sleepy land and I had to grab my water bottle and phone and head down to the dungeon (aka basement) to start my work day.  There is for sure a nip in the air this morning.  Oddly warmer in the basement than it is upstairs.  The furnace is still off so no air movement.

I watched a few interviews on YouTube with Charlie Puth.  I found out that he likes to walk around in the nude and his house is built mostly of glass.  Damn sure wish I was his neighbor.  He also said that chances are if you see him not wearing a shirt he’s probably not wearing any clothes at all.  He gets a thrill out of being naked knowing that not everyone can see him like if he is making a video or in a live chat.  He is proud of his body and well if my body looked like his I’d be proud of it as well.  He talked about his new album Charlie and some of the personal issues that caused him to create a few of the tunes.  Oddly he doesn’t necessarily call out females and refers to sexual partners or partners in generic terms like people or person.  Maybe it’s wishful thinking on my part but the more he talks about his sex life and life in general it continues to firm up my opinion that he’s not entirely 100% heterosexual.  That’s just my opinion and unless Charlie states otherwise I will probably never ever know for sure.  I do think that his eyes are opened about life a bit more now that he is older but I also think that he is still a bit of a kid inside despite being a full grown adult on the outside.  I remember when I was 30 life wasn’t exactly 100% fun but I still felt quite youthful.  He’s got a great gift with music and his voice as well as the whole perfect pitch thing.  I hope there are many more albums in his future.  I’d like to see him in concert again.  His voice is what attracted me to him and I thought nothing sexual of him at the time until he got older and then my hormones took over.  It’s always great to see him do multiple interviews and learn new information.  I’ve listened to his new album a few times and it’s really good!

Outside of the occasional cough or sniffle I feel mostly okay.  I don’t know that I am out of the woods but I think or should I say I hope the worst of this illness is over.  It could be a mild case of COVID or it could be something simpler as the temperature change caused my sinus’ to act up.  I didn’t take a COVID test and don’t have any plans to at the moment.  If I feel worse then that is a different story.  I will be due for my next Booster next month.  Not looking forward to that but then again I don’t look forward to any date with a needle.

Still no more mice but something had to have died because of the smell.  It’s not exactly gone yet.  Colder weather seems to make it disappear or fade for a bit but as soon as it warms a bit the odor comes wafting back to life.  If this goes into next week I will be calling the exterminator back.  I killed a small spider last night that was just randomly hanging out on a wall by the garage door.  I know for sure when they do come back I want some glue traps setup by the front and garage door.  Spiders as well other crawly things tend to enter there because well it’s a door.

I did some searching on Zillow last night.  Found a single family home that looks more like an apartment and the house payment is like $700 per month but they also want $300 in HOA dues every month.  Seriously, that is a bit much.  I know HOA and COA fees can get out of hand and at the moment with the pittance my HOA is wanting I’ve got it pretty good.  Still I like to look around to see what is out there.  I found a couple places that were just 2 bedrooms that would work perfectly for me and the price is much less than what I am paying per month here and they are selling for way less than I owe here.  If I was ready I could make a move but the more I thought about it things aren’t exactly horrible here.  It’s mostly the maintenance that is an issue as well as the memories that I have attached to the place.  Moving is something that I really want to do, I am not sure if that will ever happen.  It’s still nice to look and dream.

Trash day is upon us again and I will have to wrangle everything together and take the barrel out to the curb.  Hopefully they don’t run behind again this week.  That throws off part of my senses of knowing what day of the week it is, since they all easily blend together, especially when I am home for a couple weeks at a time.

I need to hit up both Target and Sam’s this weekend.  Sam’s is a bit more important because the water softener is about out of salt and I am also about out of Diet Coke.  I have a desire for fresh bakery (don’t need it but I want it).  Target is more for Gator that’s where I get her litter at and I am a bit low but could scrape by for a little longer if I had to.  I’d say this is about a $100 to $200 total trip or somewhere in between.  Litter isn’t cheap and Target used to sell it super cheap but those days are long gone.  Outside of that I know that I really want some sleep and to be able to relax on Saturday.  Outside of the shopping I have no real plans and will soon be thinking about where I should dine at.  That is always a difficult decision to make and largely depends on my mood and what I crave. A nice twink just isn’t on the menu at any restaurant around here, I mean that’s what I really crave.  It would probably do wonders for my mood.

Hope that you have a good day and can hang in there one more day so we can finally make it to another Friday and eventually the weekend.  I’m on-call as of Monday and never look forward to that.  Soon it will be time to start on the schedule for next year and I like that even less because I have to juggle holidays around peoples desires.  I don’t exactly know why I get this job since I am not a manager but it’s been delegated to me for several years now and I just do it without having to be told/asked.

One thing I have learned for certain this year is that my “team” would seriously struggle without me.  They would make it but it would be difficult and a lot of stuff would be seriously fucked up.  That kind of makes me feel good but still if I didn’t have a need for the money I wouldn’t hang around the place.  I mean there are many other things that I would rather be doing like sleeping, watching TV or even traveling.

Speaking of traveling I guess I should travel back to work before I head up stairs to check on my little girl.  Take care and thanks for stopping by.
