Morning … Back to another Munday! Saturday was a great day, relaxing sleeping in. Watched the Peanuts movie and Mora watched 1/2 of it with me. It was neat to see her staring at the TV from bed. Not exactly sure what draws her in but there are a few things she likes. She doesn’t watch often but usually I am aware when she does.
I went out for Mexican food to the place that I normally go. Since it was Saturday and not a Sunday they were busier and I thought the experience would be better. Nope, slow ass waitress, food taste was off. The cheese sauce wasn’t the usual blend and looked to be mostly cheddar. The sour cream was warm, yuk who wants warm sour cream. I thought for sure I’d get sick from the little bit that I ate but so far so good.
Got cat food and that was a large bill. Dry and Wet food cost me almost as much as I spend on myself for a weeks worth of groceries. However, this will last them a lot longer than a week. The dry will go for a month or two. Wet lasts about 2 weeks.
The mail didn’t bring me anything special just some medicine and bills.
Sunday was where the stress part came in. Made it to breakfast, Target and the Grocery Store. Found lots of good bakery this time at Target. Got some assorted cookies (chocolate chip, peanut butter chocolate chip and chocolate and macadamia nut) along with 4 large Apple Fritters. I wanted to rip open the package and eat them right there but managed to resist until this morning when I had one. Ah sugar one of my weaknesses. I also got some soda.
Got everything put away and watched TV as well as rested with the cats. I was working on laundry and we had our basement time together. As per usual they were both clamoring to go back upstairs and that happened multiple times. The stressful part came in when they tried that as I was working on my taxes.
Don’t ask me how but things got royally fouled up. The system tried to tell me that my state owed me a very large amount of money and the state that my employer is in I had to pay a large sum of money to. It was all upside down. I logged into a new system with a different tax provider and they seemed to have it all straight from the get go. Back to the original system, I threw everything out and started over. Magically everything came together. Normally I get to this point and wait. Then come back in a week or two to see if anything changed. Sometimes I wind up having to pay less or getting a little bit more back. However, I was so stressed out and done with it I just pulled the trigger and filed. I don’t normally get audit protection but opted in for that this time, just for good measure. As of this morning all of my returns have been accepted. I dropped the check in the mail to the state that I owe so I am truly done with taxes. Just sit back and wait for the refunds to roll in. I am not getting a whole lot back but as they say every penny helps.
Time got away from me since I was all consumed with taxes. I was set on going out for Pizza and did exactly that. The cats weren’t happy about it but damn I needed a break. Pizza was good and I have plenty left over to munch on. This is hand tossed crust so when I eat one piece I will want another and another. It’s just so good and addictive. The fridge already smells like left over pizza and good thing were closer to lunch!
Came home after pizza and worked on the computer. Trying to get a program to do boot time defragging. It keeps failing and I am at a loss as to why. This is a huge time suck because I am hell bent on fixing it. I can’t work on it during the work day because I need my system and I don’t really work on it in the evening because I’ve been in front of a machine all day long. Weekends are usually when I opt to try to tackle it. I don’t have a support contract but am considering buying one just to get support on this one problem.
Slept okay but had a bad dream, that comes from taking extra medicine. I managed to cut myself shaving just below the nose. I hate those hairs that grow between my nose and top lip. They are so stubborn to trim even with a blade that has a built in trimmer. Had to fight with my nose hair trimmer to come apart, that took 15 minutes but I got the battery changed. It’s like everything had to be an ordeal yesterday. Hopefully, that is not a sign of what is to come this week.
Finally after my shower I was able to sit and watch the latest Corbin Fisher scene and that helped to make the day much better. Then back to looking for content to watch. Got to bed later than normal waiting for the medicine to kick in because I took it later than normal. The cats were sleeping.
Speaking of cats, while I worked on my taxes I saw I had a visitor. It was a blackish cat that was sunbathing on my front porch. The camera kept going off with alerts. I didn’t try to greet it, just let it be. I was too consumed. Normally I would have. No one has posted anything about it missing but I am still keeping an eye out in case it comes back.
I didn’t want to climb out of bed this morning. Rudy had me up a little bit early but I went back to sleep and he waited patiently on top of me until I was ready. I got my Rudy biscuits and we made our trek to the kitchen where breakfast was consumed by all. Of course the cats ate first as per usual.
Work at the moment is slow and calm. One dumb meeting this afternoon. I am on-call and maybe I will be too busy to attend or so I hope. It’s a pointless not needed meeting. My dumb co-worker has been less than responsive to a lot of my emails so I have to send them two times. I figured out how to motivate him, just mark read receipt and he replies the first time, every time. Wish I could become wealthy so that I could quit and go do something more enjoyable with a lot less stress. Ah well, dream on I know.
Hope your having a good day. Going up to see the cats in a bit and get some pizza! The sun is out and I imagine they will be soaking it all in today. In the 50’s here which feels a lot warmer than it actually is but I will take it over being in the deep freeze. I do wonder if we are done with snow and plummeting temperatures, suppose only time will tell.
