Good Morning…Yesterday was filled with all sorts of crazy issues and requests. I ran that dreaded meeting yesterday and it went okay. It was just 18 minutes of pure hell for me. I caught a lull around 3p and broke away from the basement and headed upstairs. It wasn’t but maybe 15 minutes later I got a call and had to work with a vendor so I quickly logged in. Magically the knowledge that I imparted to the vendor helped him solve the issue and we were done in minutes. Things were really dead quiet after that. Until closer to 4:30p I got this crazy request about a website that had issues. The product throwing the error message doesn’t manage our web filtering so I engaged my boss and did some further digging. Boss said to ask for more information from the person and tell them that the website was down. Not sure if actually was down my home DNS provider (NextDNS – not sponsored) said that the site fell under a next gen threat so it blocked me. I can’t get to it from work and the boss couldn’t get to it from his home or cell, which is why he said to tell the person the site was down. Magically that seems to have made the issue go away as I haven’t heard anything more.
Had a task to login for later in the evening, took care of that and finally I was done with work for the day.
The house was hot it got up to 81 in here. Abnormally warm outside and then as the cats and I were resting comfortably in my room, we both dozed off the weather radio went off that shocked us awake. Tornado Watch, which is totally something I expected as we had a rapid cool down once the sunset. I just hoped for the best and went to bed. I expected to get woken up during the night and slept quietly all night long. Woke up this morning everything still standing and looking like it was yesterday. It’s more like Winter this morning, very cold out but never fear Summer is coming back on the weekend. I hate wacky weather that’s a great way to get me and a bunch of others sick.
My back is still sore and bothers me a little bit after my Saturday massage. I think the key here is that things need to keep moving and flexible. I think they gum up as I still sit around mostly due to my sedentary lifestyle. I think if I leave this alone it will heal on it’s own but then the knots will start to form again and it will begin to bother me in a different way. Before I got on to the team I am on, I was much more active. I know it’s good to move around and the little bit that I do at home doesn’t amount to much. When I go shopping for cat food or groceries is when I get the most exercise. Hell even going to Target. I park a million miles away from the store and walk in, it just feels good and something I have always done. Not much of a fan of public parking lots. Oddly enough though when I hit up the grocery store it’s early enough I always get a sweet spot close to the door. I am still loosing weight but it’s in flux where one day it’s gone and a few days later its back. I am eating less and know that helps with the weight loss.
Had a catastrophe last night. I passed out treats and the cats got under my feet I managed to step on one of their tails and they scattered. I think it was Rudy so I apologized to him. He didn’t really want much to do with me at the moment which also told me that I probably had the right cat. I am always telling both of them you can’t walk around my feet, I have clown feet at times and eventually it’s going to lead to an accident, no matter how careful I am. I think he got the message last night. He managed to go back to treats but Mora had gobbled up most of them. She knows when to capitalize on the situation and she loves her treats a bit more than her brother. Thing were back to normal in about 30 minutes. Both cats were resting next to me on the couch and were poised for the next treat which was cat nip. We can’t end a night here without them getting their cat nip, but it’s happened once or twice. Kind of sorry I introduced that to them but glad to see that it brings joy to their faces.
Before I went to bed I grabbed the feather I bought for them and chopped off the bell. Mora was chewing at it and I know that cats will swallow damn near anything. I remember horror stories from when I would be at the vet and while you think a cat wouldn’t swallow a small bell but they will. Before Mr. Murphy visited me again I took matters into my own hands. Now sadly the feather isn’t that entertaining to her. I hated to ruin her fun but I don’t want to pay for surgery to open her up to retrieve a bell, that would be major expensive and it’s avoidable. I had the thought the other day to do this but ignored it. Since it cropped back up I acted because I didn’t think I would get another chance. Better safe than sorry.
I’ve got a meeting a bit later this morning and that is my schedule for the day as it stands at the moment. I have to be on watch in case something crops up and I know it will. Hopefully, since we are at the 1/2 way mark for the week things will start to calm down a bit. Just looking forward to getting more towards the weekend so that I can do more of what I want and have to be less concerned with work.
How’s your week going? Hope that all is well.
