Fun with cats

Morning … I am hopeful that today will be a great day and a bit calmer at work, only time will tell.

I was done with my day and then my dumb co-worker reached out because he did something and didn’t remember to check his spam filter.  I had to double check some work he did and when I found that all was right and working, I told him check your spam folder.  The message he was looking for was there.  Jesus Christ hard to believe that he had a Secret Security Clearance and our (the US) Government relied on him.  I was smitten with him and his ability when he joined us some 3 years ago but today he’s dumber than owl shit and that seems to be the only kind of talent we attract.  I am sure that he is glad that he landed a cushy job with us. I wonder if he fucked up that bad when he worked for the government.

I’ve checked on my camera and while it’s up it varies if it sees both batteries it is still active.  I’ve got the original batteries charged and I plan on swapping back to them today.  I am disappointed that I have to do this.  I should return them but considering I got them for a song at like $20 I am unsure what I will do, need to think about it.  I still have plenty of time in the return window.

Bored last night in scrolling through You Tube I found several channels geared towards cats.  Rudy was fast asleep.  Mora was sitting on my lap.  I decided to have some fun and put on one of the channels to check it out further and see what happens.  It showed birds feeding and there was plenty of sounds.  It took Mora a few minutes but she started watching TV.  Rudy woke up from his nap a short time later.  He looked around and I guess thought he had been transported through time to the outside, he was confused at first.  Mora had been purring and that stopped, she was laser focused on the TV.  I just kept it going.  She jumped down from my lap and her and her brother were on the floor focused on the TV.  Standing on their hindlegs peeking at the TV.  Then came the swatting at the TV since that didn’t yield any results Mora jumped up next to the TV and just looked very close at the screen.  If she would have jumped the TV would have fallen so I was on guard.  I stopped the channel.  Then they begged me to bring it back.  I found a different channel with similar content and that kept their interest.  Rudy kept swatting at the TV it was about 15 minutes of fun.

Concerned because it was almost bed time I wondered if I would be able to calm them.  I changed content and eventually powered the TV off.  They both looked around for a bit but once I got up they remembered that it was cat nip time and then the evening went on as normal.  They chased after each other playing and eventually we were all reunited in my room after I was done with my getting ready for bed routine.

4 years old and they still have so much pep in them.  Gator and her family used to be like that but honestly it was so long ago that I had forgotten about it.  That’s why when I first brought Rudy and Mora home I wondered what I got myself into, their energy levels were off the chart and it was a bit much to adapt to, I wasn’t even certain that I could.  Now here we are a little bit after a year and I am used to them but they still do things that surprise me and I always have my guard up when a door is about to open or I am bringing food from the microwave to the Table.

One dumb meeting this morning and it should be quick or so I hope.  Then the day should be calm unless all hell manages to break loose again.  I am so ready for the weekend and to be able to disconnect from my phone.  Just focus on what is around me and get into the relaxation zone.

Have a great day, a marvelous weekend and thanks for stopping by.  Take care!
