Hair Glue

Happy almost Friday!  My hair is in need to be cut or at the very least trimmed.  I like short hair but I have given thought on growing mine out.  Problem is it gets to a certain length (which is still short) and I can’t take it and have to chop it off.  To help make it do what I want it to I used some Hair Glue this morning.  It’s by Spiker.  It’s nothing more than a firm hair gel.  But it acts more like super glue for your hair.  I put on way too much and then it dried.  It was like I was raking my hair.  I used to use product all the time and now it’s an occasional thing.  I like it when it does what I want it to.  I wear a hat since it’s cold out and when I got to work my hair looked horrible.  Off to the bathroom to try to fix it with a pocket brush and some water.  It is no where near perfect for me but it will do.  I will probably be going for a haircut over the weekend.  Right now I just want a shampoo in the worst way.  I smell this glue and it flakes, looks like I have a serious case of dandruff.

Work was jumping this morning.  More last minute new hires that all start on Monday.  Then I find out there might be another one but I won’t know until late in the day on Friday.  I hope were done for now.  The boss sent me an email asking me to gather some data and copied his boss.  I hate that.  The work was done in about 20 minutes.  It’s sitting in my drafts folder and I will be sending it out soon.  I don’t want them to think I have nothing to do by responding quickly, which is what they are used to.  I figure make them wait a bit.  I don’t need to get myself buried with so much work I can’t breathe.

Last night was a first.  I gave Marvin some lunch meat.  It was rotisserie chicken.  It was a small nibble because he was crying and around the corner from him I was trying to fix my lunch.  He just didn’t know what to do with it and finally he ate it.  Poor thing I think it tore him up, it was either that or a can of new cat food.  I like to change things up for them once and a while.  I mean I get tired of the same flavor of oatmeal and they have to get tired of the same flavor of cat food.  I know they do when the entire can sits.

I have also noticed that water consumption amongst the furry 3 is down.  Marv is the heavy water drinker.  I’m worried about him, but he’s eating.  I passed out treats last night and he chomped on them.  We had our attention time and took in the entire episode of Suits even though it was on at 9.  I managed to stay up until 10 and then it was lights out.

Bitterly cold here tonight.  I really enjoy being able to schedule my vehicle to start up.  The heated seat is warm and the heater is running.  It’s the best way to get into a vehicle before you embark on an hour journey home.  Same is true for summer with ac and ac seat.  I don’t use the feature that often but when I do I am reminded how nice it is.  Last night I took a couple extra minutes to get to the car and it was all the better.  I’ve got it set to run for 10 minutes and if it doesn’t see me in person then it shuts off.  I also have the option of extending the time remotely if I desire.  It’s a perk that the manufacturer builds in and then after a couple years they start charging you for the service.  I’ve still got a couple years to go before we hit that point but I’ll bet it’s not cheap.

As you can probably guess I am so looking forward to heading home.  I enjoy the time I have with the kids.  I have had the fortune of being able to take care of my evening computer playing tasks from work and then I don’t even have to go to the basement.  It gives me more time with them and they all enjoy that.  Honestly, so do I.  Shame it’s not Friday but next week at this time I will be off on Thursday and Friday, so I have that to look forward to.  Plus next Thursday is payday.  This check will reflect my true earnings with my promotion and what I will be able to count on as a solid amount each payday, until raise time in the summer.  I hope that it gives me the boost I want and if so and I see a decent amount left over I will increase my contribution to my 401K for greater savings and a better match.  Right now I’m in but at the minimum and I know that long term it won’t cut the mustard.  I honestly don’t plan on retirement, thinking that I won’t live that long.  However, I didn’t think I would make it to my present age and here I am.  So retirement is probably in my future but a ways off.  Might as well try to prepare myself and sock away as much as I can.

Well back to ye old salt mine.  I hope that your week is going well and that your staying warm.  If your in Australia or some place tropical where the weather is nice and not on the cold side, know that I am jealous!
