The building I work in has a rainbow covered walk way, it looks nice when the sun is out. At night it’s much better because it’s lighted and all of the colors reflect on to the side walk. We also have a firepit, that is controlled electronically as well as a wall where water flows down and the lights change colors. Last night it was beautiful because it was a rainbow of colors. I’m not sure that the place is trying to display diversity or that they are gay friendly or for gay rights. However, it’s nice to see the rainbow of color instead of the usual drab colors that fill my daily life. It was rather uplifting. Plus it was a crisp night out and just the right amount of wind and chill in the air, perfect night for sitting outside – all though I didn’t do that.
I raced home anxious to see what my bow tie looked like and shoot it’s perfect. I put it on my polo shirt, like Darin Criss (from Glee) would. I took a selfie and sent it to a friend. She said the only thing missing was a smile from my face. I told her it’s not in my make up to naturally smile. Plus I was in pain, my back was killing me and the kids didn’t help chirping because they wanted more food. I didn’t even have my supper yet. I’ve been told by many people that I should make a conscious effort to smile more. I find that when I fake it, you can tell 100% that it is fake and not real. Some people can fake smile their hearts out and you’d never know. However, I am not one of those people.
So I am all set for Turkey day. Got my blue shirt, my red bow tie and probably tan pants that I will wear with my daily shoes and socks. Hopefully I can get a photo of me smiling. I’d love to use that for a profile photo – thinking that it just might be the thing to reel in the guys.
Big Boy came into sleep with me last night and I noticed that he smelled. He did it again. Peed on the floor then he sought refuge in my room because he knew once I figured it out I would clean him up. Which is exactly what happened. I will be breaking out the steam cleaner this weekend and I am going to look to see if there are bargain pee pads at the store. I just can’t keep this up, it’s killing me. I wonder if he is suffering or if this truly is him being lazy? I mean he moves around the house and seems okay, I don’t hear him crying. While I know that chances are pretty high that I will have to make the call on when to end his life, that really isn’t a call that I am in any hurry to make. Losing one just last month is still very fresh.
I wasn’t too happy with TV last night, the Country Music Awards (CMA) were on and that derailed all of the regular programming. I went through on-demand and found Fluffy the movie. Now that was worth my time, it was just a little longer than I anticipated and there were 3 minutes at the end that are extra footage that I didn’t get to see. Still I got a couple of good chuckles out of it and was able to spend time with the furry family. I did have a little bit of an obsession with my phone but quickly caught it and put it down.
As I was nearing my house last night I saw flashing lights and it was the police, they stopped someone. Those lights are so bright that you need to wear sunglasses in order to drive past them. I try not to focus on them and keep looking straight but it’s not easy. I get mesmerized by them.
Today started off really boring and turned really fast paced and interesting. I am doing some testing with a Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Oh my gosh that thing is huge. I really like it for an Android phone. I went to watch my you tube videos at lunch and man my iPhone screen is small compared to the Note. I am rushing through the testing in the hopes of returning it to it’s owner so he can get his work email added. It has to pass out security inspection and I honestly don’t think he will have a problem. I haven’t been able to strong arm my way through anything, all of the protective measures we put in place work flawlessly. Now I don’t know how anyone carries around a phone of that size. I mean it’s like an iPhone 6+. I understand the need for larger displays but making them easy to carry seems to be left out of the equation. This device comes with its very own stylus, which is pretty cool. The screen senses where the device is at and you see a little bubble for a cursor that moves wherever you move the stylus. Kind of takes me back to the days of a Palm Pilot. Yeah, that is dating myself – seems as if it was only yesterday.
Very excited that we are once again approaching the weekend. I have my therapy session, the date with the steam cleaner and hopefully a nap can be squeezed in some where, along with all of my other normal running to do. I kind of hope that lawn boy shows up this weekend to trim the bushes, he told me it would be 2 to 3 weeks and we are going on a month. It’s like dude, c’mon. He is set to mow the grass next week and I honestly don’t see that much growth. I will take another look at it over the weekend, but I think that this will be his last time mowing for the year, I see no reason to mow, but he would disagree with me. In that the leaves need to be taken care of. I tell him the same thing when he brings that up, that is God invented wind and it will take care of the leaves. It hasn’t failed us yet, year after year this is my approach and it allows me to save money, albeit $60 but it’s better than nothing. Right now I need to make all of my balances go down as much as possible.
Tonight is a mail night, perhaps something good will be waiting for me but I suspect it will be junk mail along with bills. The only real thing I am waiting on is Big Boy’s OTC medicine, outside of that all of my goodies have come in and I have the bills to prove it. The debt thing is kind of a double edge sword. I mean I needed the desktop machine and could have done fine with my iPad but since I purchased the laptop I figure I might as well use it. It’s what I wanted and there were many months worth of scrimping and saving. I guess if I am back in debt, I did it in style. Speaking of which on the way in this morning I saw this black Audi sitting on a dealers lot just calling my name out. My late partner would not be pleased with me because it’s not an American purchase. I am not buying it just remarking how nice it looked. I’m sure it’s way out of my price range, even if it is used.
I’ve got another laptop to configure here at work and I was going to do that today but this phone thing got in the way. I have a vendor coming to look at a printer and well that pretty well sucks up my time for today. I will have to try again tomorrow to be able to get this laptop done. The lease is up soon and I need the old one back. Thankfully I have a very small number going back, but I am sure as time moves forward the number will increase. I would like more than a months heads up, 2 months I think is good enough but then again I am not in charge of asset management, I am the worker bee.
Someone asked me yesterday how much I like the phones and I said I could lose them and it wouldn’t bother me. I do get to talk to a wide variety of people with various issues but I have done my time in customer service and phone queues sitting on a help desk. I am much more of a Desktop Support Person. My job has a nice mix in that it’s 1/2 of help desk and 1/2 of desktop support. You take the good with the bad and there you have the fact of life. Overall I am very pleased with my decision to become apart of this firm. The benefits are outstanding and my pay is really good as well. Now I just pray that it keeps getting better. Oh speaking of which I did get confirmation that I am approved for PTO the day after Christmas. No word on the day after New Years but I am hoping for it. I figure this place will be a ghost town and there really won’t be much going on. In many companies not much gets done between Thanksgiving and the start of the New Year. I suspect that will be true here but time will tell.
Okay so time to get ready to hit the bricks and get back to my fun times with computers and cell phones. Talk with you peeps later.
