Hello I hope all is well. It took a few hours yesterday but my gift came just before lunch time. This year’s gift was lame. A fold up cooler. It’s got the company name on it so they can write it off on their taxes. I was highly disappointed and would have rather had the money than the gift but were not given a choice. I suppose the years of gifts that wow people are gone. Now I’ve got another junk item that I lugged home. I can’t exactly give it away since it’s got the company name on it but it is tempting.
Had to turn on my portable heater in my office because they kicked on the AC in the afternoon and it was blasting. It works that way year round and while I understand AC in the summer, I don’t get it in the fall & winter. Thankfully I can use my heater to warm up. Despite the fact that it’s contraband and highly prohibited because too many people running them will trip a breaker. Then they go looking and if your found in violation they confiscate the item and you don’t get it back.
Yesterday was possibly the quietest ride home on a work day. The phone only went off 3 times. Once I got home things picked up but it’s like I timed everything correctly. I didn’t have to do anything once I got home that was related to work. But I still prune emails from my phone. I’m one of those people that operate with a clean inbox at all times, it drives me nuts to see emails in my inbox.
As expected the cats were more than happy to see me. I passed out food and they ate and welcomed me home, played a little bit and then collapsed on the couch with me. I was tired but not to the point of extreme exhaustion as I usually am. I managed to not have a nap all day long which is different. Needless to say I slept good last night. I woke up a few times but managed to go back to sleep. Rudy was my wake up welcome wagon as per usual, sleeping on top of me and making his biscuits. I love waking up with him and his sister, they make each morning special and I smile if not outward as they are both pretty cute. Mora is more like me and not a morning person but Rudy is raring to go and can’t wait to fill his belly up, look around outside and then go back to bed.
I was a little back logged this morning. Had my day start off with a crisis at work that I managed to address. Then I bumbled my way through my morning tasks and eventually was able to switch over to personal stuff. Worked on finances and then caught up on what was new in porn.
I haven’t moved since I sat down here at a little after 7:30a and I’m eager to head back up, spend a little time with the cats. Enjoy a couple of PB&J sandwiches with a Diet Coke for lunch and then slowly make my way back down. Not a whole lot going on thus far now that the morning crisis is over but that’s the thing with this job, you never really know when all hell is going to break loose. If you say the Q word for silent don’t say it terribly loud or it will act like a curse and you’ll wish you never uttered the word.
We apparently have a serious severe weather threat for the weekend and that will likely prevent me from doing any outdoor work on the house. I really want to clean the gutters in the back, power wash the deck and part of the back of the house. However I will wait and see what is in the actual forecast for Saturday as well as how I feel and move from there. I’ve got a haircut on the books for early in the morning and also wanted to go see some friends. Not 100% on where I want to eat but I’m thinking about guy watching and pizza comes to mind. I really enjoyed the trip to the buffet and wish that I could take a similar trip just not back to the same place this weekend. However, if the severe weather threat is there I would just as soon be home with the cats and have the vehicle in the garage.
One meeting today late this afternoon that I hope gets moved up or even cancelled. It’s me and my boss with a touch base. We just talked yesterday in a team meeting and it’s not like anything has really changed since then. I would just as soon skip the meeting but he loves to hear his own voice.
Hope you have a great day!
